Nope, I sure don't. After reading the other forums VADTR day I think I may hold out until next sat. They all seem to have a lot of experience with this stuff.

If memory serves me. VA = Virginia. That mean Tugboatphil will be there. What ever you do..... don't allow him to get within TEN FEET OF YOUR TRUCK!

Just kidding... ... ... ...

Phil is a great guy. I taught him most everything me knows about diesels. Just don't let him work on one ;) He's the kind of guy that would give you his turbo if he had to. Actually... . he DID give me his turbo :) He started out with nothing... ... ... ... ... and still has most of it left... ...

ROFLMAO

Phil, I still luv ya man.

Say bgilbert, I want to make me an injector puller too, what is readily available for threads matching the top threads on the injector? I have not even measured the threads for size and pitch yet.

The job was made easy with the simple injector puller I made last week at work. I simply welded a 12mm x 1. 5 nut (injector top thread) to a 3/8-16 nut. Add a 12 inch piece of 3/8 threaded rod (I have a bunch at home), another 3/8 nut, and a drilled out piece of bar, and you have a puller. I started with a shorter piece of rod, but this length gets the injector out in about 5 whacks... also is short enough to get number 6. Pic in my reader's rigs.

Thats how I did it. 3/8" all thread. You can use a big socket or old hammer head for the slide hammer.

Scott,

That's NOT fair!! I have never broken anything I didn't actually touch! :-laf

And YOU were the one who taught me that a good mechanic always has parts left over. But why is it that YOU always get to keep those parts??? ;)

Chris,

I don't know that I could get down that way anytime soon. But if you really need me, let me know. BTW, I was out at a vacant house on Fox Branch Rd the other day. Btween Dinwiddie and Carson.

Wow, You were in the neighborhood again and didn't tell me !! :-laf . You should come down to Norfolk this coming up Saturday. We are meeting at TIMINVA's shop. Go to the other place and go to the get together forum. Directions are listed there.
