Pacbrake is working on a high performance 5" remote mount exhaust brake.

Just trying to get a feel for how many people might be interested in one.

Thanks.

What would the difference be between a "regular" 5" remote brake and a "high performance" brake? Or is this just a kit that includes a compressor and brake? I would think a kit would be nice since it was a pain to try to round up all the pieces for my 5" remote brake.

I would definitely look into that due to the fact that I like the remote idea but never explored it due to my 5" exhaust. And like previous post, would the option be there to buy all needed accessories (compressor). ?

Hey Piers! Good to see ya!

I have sold 1 or 2 sets of the remote 5" PRXB in a custom kit Doug helped me set up. I think it would be very marketable with so many people going to 5" pipes on these newer trucks. Also, its ideal because it will allow customers to use whatever turbo(s) they want. I'm game.

To answer Jeff's question, both. The kit is the easy part. The HP version is because a normal 5" brake has too much leakage going by that big butterfly, to achieve maximum back pressure, at lower or mid range rpm's. This one will allow much better retarding hp, in the lower & midrange rpm band & be compatable with multiple turbo or turbo's.

Piers' I have 5" and multiple turbos... . need a test bunny?? I'm sure we could work something out

Jeff, I never really thought of you as a bunny, let alone a "test bunny" I'm a little scared to ask just what a "test bunny" does :--)

Piers: I dunno... I kinda felt like I was participating in a scientific experiment the last time you handed me a bottle and said: "Matt, just shut up and drink it!" :-laf

Piers,

I'm still running the 5" PRXB behind your twins. Works flawlessly. I can bring the rig almost to a dead stop before touching the brakes.

LOL I seem to remember a Phone call soon after that "Matt where are ya??" And across the parking lot I heard what sounded like a scream . . no a shreak. That's when Matt replied: "Yep I'm over here and that was me oh my god I screamed like a little girl" :-laf :-laf :-laf

Great to see ya 'round again there Piers.

Sounds like a product I'd buy. If it does go I'd like to request a Pacbrake part number be posted in this thread or one like it so the dealers we use don't have to be digging around to find us one. Thanks.

Piers, If a "kit" is not offered, could you PM me and let me know what a put together kit setup would run me for this? I'd like to get an idea of what kind of $$$$ i'm up against and if I should spring now or wait till a kit comes available. Will the compressor/tank setup for this be adequate enough to fill a larger/separate tank for tires, etc. ? TIA Wolfman

You know... ..... about 5 weeks ago I met up with fellow TDR member Larry Willard and we were discussing Piers going to pacbrake. We said LOOK OUT, Here comes the bombed pacbrakes! :-laf We knew he wasn't one to leave ANYTHING alone. :--) :-laf

E-Brake

Hi Piers,

Yes, I would like to go to a 5" E-brake. These would be air actuated. We will see you later. Sam
