I was wondering how to install a killswitch, so others cannot start the truck unless like a switch under the seat was flipped. It will go on my 2004. 5, Auto, bone stock. Thanks, Bobby.

Genertic how to for any car.

As you know the key only power a relay, called a solenoid. they do that because of high current. just splice into the thin wire with your switch, by disconecting it -run it to your switch and back to the post. Most solenoids are close to the battery or may be on the starter. Follow the heavy starter wire - it should be inline. if not look for thin wires at the starter. To test remove the wire (don't touch metal) and try the key - should have nothing at the starter. I know because a mouse eat thru it...

I would think that a way to interupt the in-tank fuel pump would be a good idea. I own a Stick Shift. Anyone got a good idea?

That's probably the same as the ignition switch wire. If they want it bad enough any vehicle is easy to steal. All your trying to do is slow them down and make it harder for them to steal it.

That is just like the club. We know they can cut through the steering wheel in about 10 seconds to remove it. But alot of times they will pass it over and look for a car without one. Any type of theft deterrent will help, and the clutch wire is easy to get to.

IF I ever do this to mine, I will put a relay to sound the horn when you turn the key to crank (instead of cranking), unless you flip a hidden switch. Imagine their surprise. Putting a horn behind the dashboard would be even better. A little electric fence box hooked up to some metal parts inside, would be even more startling.

I LIKE the way you think!! I like the opening sequence in the 2nd RoboCop movie where the car alarm turns the driver's seat into an electric chair for the would-be thief. But wiring a tazer into the seat and triggering it with an attempt at cranking the engine is just classic!:-laf Let me know how that works out for you. Could probably start selling kits... .

Pre-AirDog I had that setup. The fun part was that the truck would start and run. If you drove off you got about 1, maybe 2 blocks before you drained the fuel in the canister and the truck stalled. I figured, let the guy take it a few blocks and then be in the street with it stalled in the wide open.

As for putting the switch under the seat. That's retarded! Think like a thief, and don't put a switch there!.

I have mine (it's not in use yet, need to figure out a better way). in the dash area. If they pull the entire dash apart, my wiring is obvious.

That's not a bad idea. I'd wire up my train horns as well as the OEM horn. That way if I'm near, I can really hear the alarm :)

But with the ignition wires, you need to keep the stock looking. Definitely bury any connections you make under the hood.

I use all the same color wires for all my gauges and what not and hide the kill switch wires in them harnesses.

Or just run so much aftermarket wiring that it would take days to figure out what wire completed what circuit...

One of these days I'm going to install the clutch switch cutout.

That's kinda what I did with the same color of wires. I need to get the switch to interface into the ignition or something. I loved the idea of the stock fuel pump.

You plan on installing the cut off wiring under hood and not at the clutch peddle right?

Maybe I can get an On/Off switch for the fuel lines? mid way under the truck install the cut off. The return line on the air dog will work, so I won't break a fuel line or something. The truck will run for a few blocks and die.
