Anyone know the size of the lugs on the ends of our battery cables off hand?

Without having to drive home and check, does anyone know the size lugs needed on the ends of the positive and negative battery cables?!? Thanks!!!

Did you want the battery post size or post clamp that is on the cable? It would depend on the cable size. Mine have been swapped, bigger gauge cable, thus larger clamp to fit said cable. There are universal post clamps for cable, get a truck size, they are larger. I have bought them at TSC before, just under $5. 00 each. Better than one that needs replacement, probably not as good as a crimp or solder unit.

actually was looking for the size of the lug at the end of the cable that bolts to the starter and engine block... . I tore my cables off tonight and got the right size needed... my cables were shot and wanted to make up new ones... thanks for the info, though.

we all have those moments... . I went with the same size 2/0 cable that was on the truck... thought about 3/0, but figured that would be overkill... .

Overkill is not bad, though the 2/0 will work just fine. I believe I got 3/8 holes on each end of the cable when I had them made up. I got marine terminals (they were on my 91 when I got it, and they are neat and handy for adding accessories), and had ground and positive cables made up for about half the dealer cost for a single positive cable.
