I'd like the same thing... A timing module only, I already have a fueling box, but would also like to get the timing advanced. Does Brett have anything like this yet??
Thanks

I just put in one of the Tru torque boxes from DD. One of the three settings is supposed to be timing only with no added fuel. I haven't tried the timing only setting yet. It came set at timing plus fuel after 3 lbs of boost. Haven't got to drive much since I installed it but initial impression is WOW!

I've got this feeling that my truck's timing is retarded, just to meet CA emissions AND my truck was caught up in the Janet Reno great Diesel debate, where all our computers were set retarded off the line and then would advance to optimum after 10,000 miles.
I could consider an aftermarket product which reset timing to optimum. I'm not interested in any fuel increase. Thanks!

Sam is correct, the Diesel Dynamics True Torque Power Module has three different settings, one of which is a TIMING ONLY setting. I JUST received mine and set it to the middle position (timing + fueling all in at 20 psi). We'll see how that works with my DD3s. #ad

No mention anyplace in LINKS, ADVERTISEMENTS. or anyplace else where the Diesel Dynamics website is located. Help!

Nevermind - I used a search engine and found the site - BUT no technical info at all on any of their products - "just another graph".

TL, I just callled them and talked to a gent named Keith. Called a couple of times with probably the same questions you have. He was very helpful and took the time needed to answer my questions. So far they have been great to deal with.

Go ahead and add a little fuel. It's more fun that way! #ad
I can't stand to drive my truck without the box. It's too much of a slug! Later Tater.

I think they are reselling the same box The Edge is selling. Might cut out the middle man and go direct to the EDGE. If you already have Edge products, and they have you on file, they give you a discount.

tlippy,

check out the thread Joe D started on the 24-valve colum : 383 hp ETH at DD. He mentions DD was able to advance the timing 2 deg by replacing the timing plate inside the pump. May be a route to go if you don't want a box. I guess cost would be another consideration.

Since dealers and DC are aware of boxes I wonder if this could be a new way of stealth bombing (re-working the "guts" of the pump)? At least for awhile until they catch on.

The DD true torque box is not a clone of the Edge box. The timing specs for the DD-tt box were determined and optimized by Lawrence/DD, and are different from those in the box you would buy from Edge. After all the testing DD has done, I would pick their box for timing advance, because too much timing is worse than not enough (stock timing).

I mentioned the 2 degree plate in the ETH pump just to give a complete report. It is not the way most folks should advance timing. The box is way easier. The plate works fine, but is practical when other things are being done inside the pump also, not for general usage.

In general the 24 valve does not want as much timing as the 12 valve for several reasons. I won't go into all that here.

It's tough for an "ole KISSer" to change it's spots. And if it's the difference between 2 degrees + or -, I'm just gonna "keep on KISSin". Seriously, thank you for commenting.
