I have a 1996 that needs the driver's side airbag. Anyone know what years cross over and will work on a 1996. Also, does the module need replaces on a 1996 if the bag blows?

I think your best bet would be to contact your local "Auto Recycling Center" AKA junk yard.

They've got all the latest cross-referencing databases/catalogs on what fits what.

Not sure if it's a federal law but for sure in WA and MT it's against the law to sell recycled airbags. Won't hurt to check though. Another factor you have going against you is if a rig gets damaged enough to make it to the junkyard the airbag has usually gone off.

Hold your breath if you have to buy a new one, never replaced a Ram's but a Honda's cost me $1800 just for the airbag.

Go on ebay and type in Honda Airbag. You will be surprised what they bring. I hope insuranse paid for that bag for you. Just remember, the world is not like Mayberry. There is a huge use airbag market for a reason. #1 is the new cost is HUGE, #2 is they are easy to get out of a perfectly good car sitting in your local apartment complex. In all I hate them. They have driven up insurance rates for all of us. You can total a 3 yr. old car with a dear hit these days if it takes out the coolers, headlamps and blows the bags... .

RBrooks,

you are right and I buy alot of them there. I seem to see only for 98 & up and am wondering how late of year I can put in a 1996. I will call my local truck yard with the Hollander cross. ref. book. I thought I would throw it out. Thanks
