Can anyone tell me how to find out if the "ship" actually left on schedule, and, if my truck was on it?

My dealer doesn't seem thrilled will all of my inquiries, and the last they said was that it was in storage at the shipyard, and the ship was due to leave on 2/26...

I wouldn't mind flying down there on frequent flyer miles and drivin' her back!!!
I have the same problem with my Dealer, And I visit the fleet manager every week just to remind him there is a person behind the order. He is reluctant to give me any info except that it should be delivered at the end of March. When I ask about a VIN he says it not possible until it is in shiping, which at that time they will bill the Dealer for the vehicle.

Does any body have a phone# so I could find out info with just a VON#?

All,

Received confirmation today that my truck ordered on 19 Jan is in a hold status... Code BG! Which effectively acknowledges the order but restricts it from being scheduled for build due to some material deficiency (as explained to me "this type of hold can happen when something in your build is not available on the line". Some further digging has revealed that this may be in order to resolve some discrepancy in the the 6. 7L's EGR system...

I pass this along not 100% sure of the veracity of this report, because this could possibly explain the issues some of you are experiencing in the "Anyone know when" and What's it mean when your trucks been shipped to storage" threads...

Did you order it with the Idle control because the last I knew it was an option but the Dealer told me it was not available at this time and if I was to order the option, the factory would hold up the order until it was available. I need my C&C ASAP for the bed fitting in Kansas so I didn't want to chance it.

I ordered this last Monday (26th) and as of yesterday the truck is D1 gateline to be built. I doubt there is something wrong with the EGR since new C&C trucks and arriving daily. At least I hope this is the case.

You might make sure the dealer has allocation (if they will tell you). My dealer only had allocation for 2 6. 7 with 6 speed at my time of order.

You cal call Chrysler at 800-992-1997. They will ask for your VON or VIN.

Noy sure how often their system updates on the statu though.

I posted this in another thread but I called my buddy at the local dealership last monday (Lexington, KY) and had him go do a lot check for the new 6. 7. He counted at least 8 or 10 while I was on the phone with him. . I think they were all 6 spd manuals, not an auto in the bunch. They are out there, I'm not sure what's going on with some of your trucks. .

i called chrysler last week asked how long truck would be in js status they told me there was nothing she could do until truck was in storage for 30 days after 30 days they could do something to help mine was ordered 12-16-06

Sorry to hear about the delay. There must have been something with the EGR as stated in other posts. I guess they may be handling that issue in the storage area.

I ordred my truck 1 week ago (2-26). It went to D1 status on 2-28, and has a scheduled ship date of 3-16.

It appears what ever the problem, it has been fixed. At least I hope so.

from what i found out today thru dealers rep and my inside source at dcx there seems to be a problem with th egr unit in the trucks was not given any idea when they might be released good luck every one waiting for new truck

Hi everybody, am back I to am putting in an order to replace my 4/2 Laramie sprort 2004. But before I decided to order new truck , last week I was checking on installing a Jacobs brake on my 2004. So I phone 800 # for Cummins ,and the auto recording that tell you the # to push too ask your questions, said something about anybody that calls for problem on the 6. 7 exhaust brake to press forget what # . That is maybe the reason why they are holding truck delivery? Not 100% sure but I will call again tomorrow morning ,and pay more attention , has I was on the phone a costumer came in my shop , and did not call back for my question.

I ordered on Jan 20th, got a VIN a few weeks later, VIN tells me truck was made in MX.

Truck was "DI", then "JS"

Was told on March 8th that it had arrived in Chicago by rail on March 6th, was heading out to Windsor Ontario, on March 8th, will arrive at local dealer on April 9th. ( all by rail) .

These trains must travel quite slow. LOL

My 01 will reach 500,000kms ( 310,000miles) on Monday. I have an employee that just can't wait for it to be his "new" truck, as soon as my 07. 5 arrives.

Just left my local dodge dealer and they have 1 6. 7 (auto). It's a megacab dually.

They had what I thought to be a good deal on another megacab dually with the 5. 9 (auto) , 4wd, SLT it was listed at $49K and they had it marked down to $43K. Too bad I'm not in a position to purchase now. :{

3500 CC On Order

I ordered my CC on 1/17. On 3/1 (Thurs), I checked with my dealer and they said that the "codes kept switching". They called their area manager and the following Monday, the status changed to D1. I checked yesterday (Friday 3/9) and there's a VIN, an estimated ship date of 3/22, and an ETA of 4/4.

Thank you for all who have posted to this thread. I'm new here. The information has been very helpful in understanding what's going on. Fortunately, my dealer was already on top of things, but of course the real proof is when I drive the truck off the lot.

Good news: You didn't pay the $995 BlueTec clean diesel charge and you still have your exhaust brake. QUOTE]

For you members who are experiencing difficulty with local dealers in regards to ordering information, informed answers to your questions there is a better way.

You will find that Adam Macomber, at Dishman Dodge can eliminate your frustrations.

Example. I could not get a price on a specific truck I wanted to order. Went to the TDR site and complained my frustration, at thread, “Dealer won’t Dance”. Many fellow members responded through the thread and PM, about Dodge Dealers all over the US. Yes, there were warnings about bad Dodge Dealers and unknowledgeable or dishonest salesman.

I sent out emails to dealers and got a few serious replies.

I am happy to say, that Adam Macomber, Dishman Dodge, Spokane, WA. , got my attention with his professional price sheet and knowledgeable clarity about the product he represented. My truck was ordered on, Jan 15, 2007. I took a Delta flight from Dallas, TX, to Spokane, WA, on Feb. 28, and picked up my truck. I was treated like an honored house guest during the two days at Dishman Dodge. Extra time was needed for installation of my last minute add on choices. No surprises, no disappointments. I drove all over the west coast seeing family and old friends on the savings that Adam Macomber provide on the purchase of my truck. I have 4K on the odo and it runs like a Cummins. I am a happy camper.

I don’t pretend to have inside information or understand about the numbers shuffle on a vehicle price sheet. The bottom line is my 2007. 5, 3500, 6 speed AT, 4X4, QC, SRW, LB had a base price: $44358. 00; Accessories: $1905. 04; Deposit: $300. 00; no tax or license; I wrote my check for $42498. 04.

There may be some who can beat that price but there are none who can out do the buying experience I enjoyed.

Have you called Adam, yet? 1-877-568-3363.

My one real regret is that I was not able to, Vote With My Dollar, at the local Dodge Dealer, in Decatur, TX. Their sales manager did not earn my vote.

Mel,

Glad to hear everything is going ok with the new truck. On your original post, I figured you tried to make a deal in Decatur since you live only a few miles away. It's ironic as that is where my new truck will be this weekend.

I ordered on 2-28, was in D1 2 days later and the truck was built on the 15th. My rail car had a bad wheel assembly in Laredo TX and sat there for 4-5 days. It has been in Arlington, about 40 miles from my house since Monday. Should be taken to Mesquite and unloaded tomorrow.

I have purchased or ordered many vehicles over the years and this has been painless. I know many of the local TDR members who have purchased in Decatur and have had great service, especially in the service department. I need to ask for and additional discount if I plug them in every post. :-laf Just having some fun.

Glad you enjoy the new truck, and can't wait for mine.

Mike
