This was last year, nothing big, I hunt on a lease and they cut all the trees around me three years ago. the little six I shotcause I didn't think I was going to see anything and 15 minutes later the other showed up.
I took this guy with a Ruger 30.06. I had him mounted as it was my first bear. I messed up the hide and only got a shoulder mount. We ate most of him, mixing half bear and half beef/fat.... bear meat balls, roasts etc. Wasn't too bad actually.
Super nice bucks. In California, we're lucky to take a 2x2.....that's IF we see a deer. Lot's of lions that haven't been hunted in decades and now we have wolf's crossing the northern border
We do a pretty good job of keeping the wolves and bears in check up here in Alaska so moose populations have been good in most areas of the state. I'm heading to Kodiak for work/play on Thursday so with any luck, I'll post some pics of delicious baby deer they have down that way. Sitka blacktails.
Got done with some work and had a little time to play. Got a nice little blacktail buck and a winter King. These were taken in Skelikof Strait a couple years back.
