Do you know of any exhaust mfg. that makes a 12 gauge thick 4" exhaust???

I believe Rip Rooks is a 16 Gauge.

I'm unsure about the others??? (probably around 14???)

Kevin you thinking of changing your exhaust??? Thought you were happy with Straight Pipe, or was that just until you got a 4"?

If 14ga is good:)..... and 12ga is better:D ... ...

Howzeabout an exhaust system built from black sprinkler pipe?;)

Might have to beef up the passenger-side springs a little..... :p

Hmmm - that's an interesting thought. A heavier gauge pipe might have enough extra mass and rigidity to reduce/eliminate the dreaded drone. If you go this route, please update the thread.

When I straightpiped my truck (eliminating the muffler and resonator. We used a 12 gauge straight pipe with 7/16ths hanger rods. I think it helped eliminate any drone I may have had with just a simple thinner gauge straight pipe.

Only problem I see is actually getting 12 gauge in a 4" size. It doesn't seem to common.

The best I could come up with was 14 gauge (JRE and Bully Dog). Rod at Wildcat sells the Bully Dog and is selling it for the same price as the Jardine (16 gauge) system. I'd give Rod a call, they are kicking around making their own 4 " exhaust and are open for product design suggestions. Maybe they will consider making a 12 gauge exhaust, Rod was aware the thinner wall tubing may be a contributing factor to drone and is one of the reasons they carry the 14 gauge Bully Dog.

Darren,

I'm debating an HX40. (PDR version) If I go with the 40 I'll need a 4" exhaust.

Gages

12 gage is 1/12 of an inch. Start with 1000 parts of an inch and divide by the number gage you have:

1000 divided by 16 (ga) = 62. 5 or 62/1000"

1000 divided by 12 (ga) = 83. 3 or 83/1000"

1000 divided by 10 (ga) = 100 or 100/1000"

You may find little differences due to foreign made materials.
