anyone making a 5" turbo back for the 04.5's?

like the title says, im looking for a turbo back 5" exhaust for my 04. 5 CTD. i see bullydog has the cat back, but i would like to get rid of that thing as well. a new exhaust and the AFE Pro Guard 7 with the torque tube and i believe i will be done with this truck. well, at least until i want to go up with it.

tommy, i would love a new turbo, but more than likely won't ever upgrade that. i think the AFE intake and then the new exhuast is all im going to do to this truck. im more into 4wheeling than diesel racing. the ram is going to be the tow vehicle.

From what I understand a 5" downpipe will cause more turbo lag unless you are running more than 500-550hp. A 4" down pipe should be good enough for you. A downpipe back 5" can sound better butt some have experenced some droan on the older trucks.

my buddy and I had 5" systems from City Muffler in OKC... great systems. I paid $330 for mine. price has gone up since then, but still pretty good.

I just put the MBRP 5" Aluminized single set-up from Diesel Performance Parts on my truck, and I love it... Drone is a bit worse around the 2,000 RPM range, though.

Has a nice throaty sound, and was a cinch to put on after I got the stock one off,(I took everyones advice and got a sawzall to cut stock one off)

Take Care... Michael

You will be sorry if you go with the 5"-that size exhaust is so loud, that you can`t here yourself think-I`m not an old fart that does not like the straight pipe sound, but this is entirely to loud-espacially when you hook to a load. Find some one that has one, and you will more than likely change your mind. There is a good chance that you might lose a little low end also. been there -done that

the 5" isn't any louder than 4". the 5" just has a deeper tone to it. mine has no drone, and in the cab at hwy speeds, isn't really any louder than stock with the windows up,
