Anyone mounted mirrors to overhang of a truck camper instead of extending?

Seems like a better solution than extending the mirrors. I have a hard time getting enough tension on the mount to keep them from blowing back when they are extended.

Yes, I have and they work great. I used some 3/8" X 2" aluminum bar stock cut to about 12" in length. Every one who see's them thinks it's a great idea. Everyone who doesn't see them bangs there head on 'em.

I got a pair from my local camper store. $50 and they worked great except when you opened the door and bumped em. That was on a Toyota with a Wilderness cabover, Don't know about the Dodge. I'm going to try the Geno's extensions first.
