So my wife managed to rack up 100K miles on her 2015 Durango and it's time to replace. She's looking at the Traverse because it's still a mid size SUV with just a tad bit more of storage over the Durango. What you guys think?

GM was the 1st to downgrade the 100K warranty to 5 years and only 60K. FCA followed along looks like. Coworker owns one that's 5-6 years old and now that it's paid for the typical "short lived GM alternators" is, as usual, being replaced. Nothing really unusually bad about it otherwise.

I would suggest looking at the relationship you have had with the dealer service department when deciding between the two and get a good extended warranty that covers the expensive electrical krap modern cars are packed full of. Clearly the OEM warranties are falling short and with good reason. (Offhand aside of electrical: Modern EPA neutered thin oil and longer oil changes are killing engines here and there as OEM's push and go over the limits.) You have no choice but to run a specific oil grade or the computer can sense it (in some vehicles) so again get the extended warranty.

I have a 2011 with 130k, bought it in AZ in 2012 was a ex-Hertz rental.car had 20k on it, was certified preowned so what ever thats worth, not much, but they went over it and provided that document JIC.

Mine holds 8 adults pretty well, the configuration I have is pretty nice set up.

I have driven it pretty hard, 2 sets of tires, 2 sets of pads and rotors, did have 2 rear calipers replaced one starting dragging.

Hit one deer was pretty good shot, 6k in repairs all OEM parts that was 60k ago no issues from that.

The AC had a odd issue 2 years ago in Sept stopped working they claimed $900 for the rear condenser, it was almost winter so I held off, its worked cold ever since.

The 3.6L need to keep up with the top engine cleaner, the dealer seems to have a slightly better system then a really good quick lube place, but the quick lube places do a OK job with their system for that.

I would buy another, dont think mine will be around much longer because I need tires and brakes again, windshield is broke at the bottom, by the time I get thru with all that would rather put it into something else.

Might go GMC Acadia same platform, still looking.

We bought a used 2012 Acadia (basically same vehicle) and love it. No probs so far. Great room, great storage. Can fit 3 across in rear seat. I know they changed the body significantly recently so I can't comment on the newer models but our year has lots of space.

Really I installed 1 set of tires, 2 sets total, had goodyears CUV something on them got 60k out of those, im 70k into a set of TOYOs, that are scary when wet...

I don't see too many Traverse's on the road around here but I see many Durango's like my wife's. It's just too bad Dodge hasn't upgraded the body otherwise I'd push her to buy another one. I'd love to get her back in a Tahoe, but I've got a few more payments on the Ram before I can entertain that idea. Them new Tahoe's cost more than my ram!

A GM tech just came on board at my shop, and he does not have good news about that V6 in the traverse. All kinds of timing chain and similar issues.
The only GM vehicles I remotely go near are 4 cyl AWD Chevy Equinox. These seem to be decent. I don’t like the interior, and the back up camera looks like a ‘80’s video game compared to the camera on Midnite.

I had two in a row as company cars. A 2015 and a 2017. Both were severely under powered. I'm 6'3" and weigh 195. Long trips (and I made a lot of them) were tough because the seat bottoms are short compared to everything else I drive (Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 2500). They also had a lot of road noise. With all that said, we didn't lease the top of the line cars. They were work cars but that has been my only experience with them.
