Within a couple of weeks I plan to pull my A518 auto out and have it completely rebuild from a local transmission builder. This person has done all types of automatics and has also rebuilt many diesel applications before. I have decided to "can" the idea of using my Hughes converter and sending it to DTT for there 89% converter setup. The transmission is the most critical part in a 1st gen... ... ... . why go super cheap? I have heard zero complaints about DTT products and I am hoping this converter will get me to "almost-lockup" status. :-laf I want to pull my 23ft 5th wheel trailer comfortably without massive heat issues and low power output to the rear wheels. I'm thinking this should do it!
I would like to pick the brains of other folks who are towing and running the A518. gauge numbers? vehicle speeds? etc
