I know I can control it with my Gear Vendors controller, but what other problems would I run into? Can I lock up the convertor while in 3rd gear?

jsimpson,
I have a 47rh trans that I havent yet installed but I have learned the following; you need the trans and converter (duh!) and a new motor adapter plate, flexplate and starter this all adds to the cost! but I believe in the long run the swap will pay for itself murfman #ad

I installed a 47rh in my w250 back in december. I'm using two toggle switches to control lockup and overdrive. I have gotten into the habit of putting it in lock-up while rolling through town in 3rd gear then backing off throttle and flipping switch for overdrive when I hit 45-50 mph exiting the city limits. Seems to work pretty good. Shift is kind of harsh if you have your foot in it #ad
. Hope this helps.
