Scot,

I've had no problems with an oil cooler but maybe you could be a bit more specific for the next guy who reads this... are you referring to the oil cooler mounted under the exhaust manifold on the passenger side of the motor, or the one up front by the rad??

Bob.

It's the oil cooler behind the filter on the block. It is in a 92 4X4.

P. S. I forced Ray to spend the $35 so he can post his darn self.

OK OK I spent the Money... . I also posted this in 911 where there was a thread going... .

Ok I pulled it apart and it was the cooler... whole lot easier than I thought... I really like the design but wish they had soldered it better..... The local Freightliner dealer has them in stock 210$ not as bad as I thought price wise... not only is the local Freightliner dealer the cheepest arround for Genuine Cummings parts they are also open 24/7... .....

BTW

For all those reading this Scot ( the bum) and I have been Friends for over 10 years... In fact I got a speeding ticket the day before my wedding in his Dodge flatbed... . long story and that was years ago...

I have been hanging arround in the wings for a while and you guys have helped a lot with my Dodge... Thanks again Ray... .

Ok the cooler is back in and the truck is back running... . Not bad 3 hrs and the total bill was as follows

265$ for the upgraded cooler and gaskets

30$ oil

8$ oil filter

25$ antifreeze

327$ total... I recommend Houston Freightliner they are great...

Good oil pressure and temp runs good... Going to drive it to work tomorrow and steam clean it on the pit at work. . the radiator overflow dumped oil and anti freeze everywhere. I put about half a bottle of Palmolive in the radiator to help clean the oil out. Any other suggestions. . I plan on flushing it 2 or 3 times before I put the antifreeze in... .
