The one thing I don't like about my Ram compared to my previous truck (2000 Chevy 1500) is the seats. My old Chevy had buckets and a console, and in comparison my Dodge feels like a park bench. No lateral support at all.

I've seen a few pictures of SRT-10 seats recently, and boy, do those look nice! So, has anyone tried to put those seats in their truck? Anyone look into cost (Tomeygun?)? I'm guessing lots of $$. Is the bolt pattern a direct swap?

Thanks,

Steve

I haven't paid much attention to the SRT seats, but if they are true buckets, then the floor of your truck (and mine) lack the holes near the trans tunnel for the bracket. I have added buckets to a truck that had a bench by drilling my own holes, but I didn't give much thought to the strength of the floor where the seats were bolted. I'd say if you could find the seats they could be installed with a little work.

I am pretty sure the center console in our trucks is mounted completely seperate from the seats. I HATE the seats too, and I recall looking to see if it would be easy to replace them and not lose the center storage. I am pretty sure it can be done.

As cheap as they went on this interior(all the seats from the ST to Laramie are the same) I would bet they made the SRT seats to use the same frames or bolt holes.

Worth looking into further. Does the SRT-10 come in the same dark grey leather? Even if the seats were spendy it would probably be cheaper than having a custom job done to match on aftermarket seats.

I, like you, wish I could have taken the seats(and Bose stereo) from my Chev. GM can keep the rest ;)

I looked into it and new SRT10 seats listed for over $4,500 new... if anyone finds a source for a set for cheaper id be all over it!

Heres the cool part - YES they would bolt directly in if you had the full bench... .

BUT the parts to build the full front seat are about $2000-$3000 (MY GUESS)

If I find a set, I want to take the headrest and have SRT-C stitched in!

If I were building a set I think I would install the heaters in them too!

I had the opportunity to drive a brand new SRT-10 that a friend bought last night. Let me say that again:  A very fast automobile. Dangerous fast. I hit 80 in 3rd gear without really trying very hard.

Anyway, I like the shifter knob, but not the stick. I don't suppose the thread size is the same, is it?

I was just reading another thread either here or on the DTR where someone chased the threads with a 10mm x1. 5 tap and used a 3/8" jam nut (also chased to 10mm) below the ball. It is about $50 unless you get Tomeygun to hook you up :D

Just the ball, $35-$40 I think

First of all, I must apologize for posting this in this thread. I did a search last night and meant to post my shifter knob question in Tomeygun's thread about finishing up installation of the SRT-10 shifter. Obviously I accidentally clicked on this thread instead.

I might order a factory SRT-10 knob and try my hand at modifying it to fit.

Thanks for the advice (despite the wrong thread)... I'll see if I can find the thread about rethreading the ball here or at DTR...

For those that are interested in SRT-10 seats, I would imagine a MUCH lower cost option would be to just have a custom upholstery shop upgrade the foam and leather. I can't see how that would cost anywhere near the $4000-$4500 mark. You could also probably get a custom (i. e. Cummins "C") logo inserted as well. Just my . 02... .

Well, I found the part number for the whole seats, frame and all...

BUT it is a mexican part number and i can't order it...

Part# 0YV791DVAA -- I think I will call the seat supplier monday (if they even take my call) se espanol?

I have pulled SRT 10 seats out of trucks at work, and they are a direct bolt in. They are 6 way power adjustable, but do not have the bun warmers. The leather is awesome and the suede insert in the center makes them very comfortable. I like the additional lumbar support. Those seats are 1000 times better than the stock cloth jobbys I have now. If only somebody would wreck soon..... :-laf

The seats in my 05 laramie sound like the seats in the SRT. They have the lumbar support and the suede insert in the center. The are much more comfortable than the seats in my 99 slt.

Since it has been awhile (I know... a bit of an understatement ) I thought I would bump this thread to see if anyone has an answer to the question or any additional input.
