Competition Sutton takes Hilmar, California...

Competition Dodge wins!

Yeah, I hear ya. That's the only part I don't like. I use mine to go fishing in the summer then hunting in the winter and it always seems like my truck is six inches wider than the trail. I'm saving all my pinstripes for my buddy's buffer. That has to be easier than rubbing by hand.

BFG mud Terrains

How do you guys like these tire? Are they wearing well? I have goodyear A/T's on riht now, they are wearing good but dont have the traction i need in a muddy pasture pulling a stock trailer. How many miles have you guys gotten out of them. Thanks in advance.

i hear ya JHansen. snow us much more fun (easy to do 360's and the such). the only problem is that i get voilent wheel hop sometimes. i'm too scared to do any serious mudding with my truck.

BFG TA MT/KM....

I love them... ... and this is coming from a guy who swore that he would never ever run anything BFG! On ice, they aren't great... ... . but in snow or mud nothing I've run will stay with them. My truck is not a poster child for tire wear-90% of my miles are racked up on gravel, I'm way overpowered (constantly spinning the drivers), and the truck weighs close to 8500 lbs. with a full tank of fuel and my fat butt onboard :) . Previous to these, the best tire wear I ever got was 38000 kilometres out of a set-rotated front-to-rear every 10000 km. These tires were completely toast-separating and bald. I'm up close to 45000 km now on the BFGs and still 1/4 to 1/3 tread-very impressive to me considering their aggressive tread design. I'm going back to another set again when these ones are all done... .....

Playing in the snow......

I get the nasty wheel hop too-I need to fab up a set of traction bars to take care of the problem I guess. This winter was the most snow we've had for a long long time-I probably took 50000 kilometres off the life span of my truck but only once did I get stuck enough to require a pull (slid off a lease road into a snowdrift up over the body line of the truck-I could still move back and forth but not enough to get back out again).

I give the BFG Muds a thumbs-up too. I'm running the 305/70's and am getting pretty good life out of them. I'm probably around 8200 lbs. and have close to 12k or 13k miles on them. I imagine I'll get at least 40k to 50k out of them. Like JHansen said, it's not bad for a tire that is this aggressive. Some people expect to get no less than 60k miles on a set of tires, and criticize these. Hey, you gotta compromise with a mud tire.

Now for traction. We don't get any snow to speak of down here, and very little ice, so I can't comment on that. But they are awesome in the dirt, mud, sand, and probably just about anything else. I don't think you could get any better traction without going to a Swamper type tire. I've run BFG Muds on 5 other trucks before the Dodge, and have had great luck with them. Even good mileage on the other trucks too.

Does it show that I like these tires?;)

I have 35,000 on a set of 315's and they still have about 1/3 to 1/4 th left. I am pretty happy. I thought they would have been gone at 30,000. The only time I have been stuck is when my bumper finally touched the ground. And thats with the lift.
