A different kind of "earth roamer."....?

Any one towing heavy and running 37" tires.

I have an 06 6-speed, and want to lift it.

I just want to know if anyone has tried to tow with this setup. (3. 73)

I know about towing with bigger tires(see sig), I would like to know if anyone is doing it with a 6-speed???

I am wondering the same thing as I am about to put 37" toyo's on mine in place of my 35" BFG's I believe if the weight rating on the tire is high enough the tire should not squirm as bad (am I right?) My BFG's squirm pretty bad with a trailer in tow.

running 37's

i am not sure what difference it makes my truck is a 85 and I am running 37's x 16. 5 tires but I am also long bed crew cab first gen body style and I dont have any wiggle when towing will try n post a pic of truck .

That seems like tall gears but it will depend on how much weight you are towing also. I have hauled up to 13K with 3. 54 and 33" tires and honestly it sucks, if I could I would drop to 3. 73. But you do have a 6 spd so that will help some.

Personally I think your Goofy if you know your going to tow and run larger tires and still you run anything but the 4:11's. Baby gears are fine for everyday commuters and truck that don't or won't ever see heavy loads or large tires. Running 37's is a huge step, and requires proper planing, otherwise you deserve all the troubles you get.

I agree with y-knot.

Plus your mileage will drop terribly because of being lifted. I've been there already with my CJ7 and big tires. It is too hard on equipment.

Not a direct comparison but my '00 2500 6speed with 4. 10s and 315s is just about perfect when towing my 36ft/14K 5th wheel. IMO 3. 73's will work with 37's but I wouldn't go over a 35 myself.

what's towing heavy? 10k ? 20k?

i tow about 13k (small excavator) with mine on occasionaly but had to gear down with the auto.

I tow my Jeep... . Jeep and trailer is about 8500lbs. If was pretty sucky (if that's a word) with the 315s (35s) and 3. 55 gears. I ended up regearing to 4. 10s.

For 37s, I would think 4. 10s, if not 4. 56s would be best.

As for fuel mileage, I get 14-15 pulling the Jeep and 16-17 mixed driving, and my all time best was the past weekend. . Mtn Home to Preston and back to Pocatello. 80mph and I got 18. 47 mpg. :D
