I bought a turbo that has fittings to run coolant thru it to keep it cool. Where are you pulling and returning the coolant? Thanks.

Since you are running a stick you can take the coolant from where an automatic would for the trans cooler that is mounted below the exhaust manifold. Just be sure to use proper lines and hose that will take the heat and to keep them routed away from the exhaust manifold. Shadrach

depends on the turbo, some have a special exhaust manifold that is designed to run with the turbo with water jackets on it. and i think that set up will either have an auxillary coolant loop or run off your heater lines.

If the turbo is a Garrett then they make a set of lines to feed the turbo.

I am on a computer right now that doesn't have the photos of mine in it. I will put one up later showing mine.

The Garrett's feed from the top and the lower lines return into where the 12v trucks heater core return lines go into, located below the oil filter... ..... Andy

The top shot shows where its fed into the turbo at. The bottom shot shows how its fed from the firewall into the turbo. I do not have a shot of the lower hose and when I get the truck back from the body shop I will take one and post it.

The Garrett I run is a GT 37R Stage 3 and is a great turbo. Its just not large enough to support what I want to do and will be looking for a new owner for it as I go larger... ... ... Andy

Also be aware that it's not mandatory that you water cool the center section. None of the stock trucks have a water cooled center section.

Hey Hammer, I've heard the Garrett turbos virtually show boost at idle. Does yours spool up that fast? Ever any surging? Is that intake tubing restricting airflow?
