Anyone running LT295/70 R17 on DRW???

I have an 03 DRW 4x4 QCab and looking for a 33" replacement of the stockers in the next couple months. I came across these http://www.nittotire.com/tires_terragrappler.asp



They are very well priced in my mind just not too sure about the running a 295/70 on the stock skinny wheels. What width are the stock dually wheels and anyone here running anything other then factory recommended size on the stockers???

I couldn't find ANY tires over a 235 section width recommended for a 6" wheel. About half the tire dealers wouldn't even mount a 245 (BFG, GY, etc all say 6. 5" minimum)



So, I got more 235's this time around, but I'm saving my pennies for 19. 5's when I need to do it again.

Stock rim width is 6". But I doubt you could get a 295/70R17 mounted onto the truck without the tires rubbing together unless you use spacers. At this point I think you're kinda stuck, I only know of the stock 235/80R17. Ford is using 245/75R17 on their duallies. Diameter should be about the same.

I'm pretty sure my door plate says my stock rim width is 6". I'll have to look again when it's not so dark outside.



The 245/75/17 is almost an 1" shorter in height (~. 8" less).

I am going to try it, More for the fact I want the gearing benefit of the larger tire and wont loose any weight rating over the stockers. Just have to run a 2" spacer in the rear and it should work fine, I hope.

I just purchased these tires and so far I am happy with them. I am not running these on the stock rims, I have them on Weld 8" rims. I purchased them for the same reason as you spoke, good prices. My only complant would be they seem to throw rocks alot more than other tires that I have had. And these is not on a dually, I dont know if you could get these on a dually they are almost 12" wide.

I just bought the wife an 03 3500 4x4 drw it has 285/70 r17 tires all the way around they are touching/rubbing while the truck is empty, but it looks like they have been on the truck a while they are Goodyear MTR's and look great on the truck but it's got me kind of wondering if it will be alright. the truck is a 2L conversion with the hauler bed so it has been used for towing not sure how heavy though.

Uhhh no, it's not a real good idea. I wouldn't load up heavy with it like that.

My neighbor is running 315's on his dually with the 6" rims. He has 2" spacers in the rear and put a 2" level kit up front. I'm running 265 on mine with no spacers and have 1/2" clearance between duals.

What kind of 265's? That should be about a 31"+ diameter? I have also heard of guys running 315's with spacers, I think a 285 or 295 load range E would be great, if BFG made an AT in that size 17" it would already be on my truck with 1-2" spacers
