I have the edge box with attitude and have been thinking of getting the unlock code. I'm planning on getting a valve body in a couple of weeks and a tc over the winter and by next year having a complete transmission built and a lot more mods. Right now I'm running level 3 all the time and have only been on 4 and 5 a handful of times. I have pulled the truck 2 times on 5 and was just wondering if having level 6 would give me any advantage or would I be just shortening the life of the transmission that much faster. Just wondering who has the HOT and if anyone is running it on a stock transmission and if there are any problems. Any input would be appreciated.

"Pulled on level 5" as in truck pull?? Howd it do?? From what I gather on here a stock 48re will handle around a 65-70 horse upgrade and not change the life expectancy too much. (if nothing major happens) Ive just got the converter, valve body and flexplate (BD deep pan too) But from what i can tell you better go billet if your expecting to make big power. Im close to where I want to be in power and couldnt afford billet. I think the billet shafts alone are around $2,400 not including install. It was $3,700 for my transmission upgrdes.

I ran the Hot Juice on a stock transmission with 37 inch tires and 3. 73 gears. It will still only have 5 settings with setting 5 being your Hot Juice. (170-180 hps ?) My trans didn't like it. I probably ran 5 on 5 about 12 times or so. It would hit 3200 rpm's and stay there through every shift. I was told it was just blowing through the tc. But it was fast and had no problem lighting up my 37's. Now Iv'e had my trans done but sold my Hot Juice. I wish I could have tried it on my new trans.

I got the Hot unlock code for mine and tried it once, in sixth gear at about 50 mph, the difference between 5 and 6 is about the same as 1 to 5. :--) I would not suggest this with a stock auto, it will tear it to pieces, i was showing 68% slip at about 80 MPH. I already have the money saved for a SB clutch and I will do some more experimenting when I get that done. Probably mid October.

There is a BIG difference between the regular juice vs. the hot juice. Your transmission will hate you man, that hot juice cost us 4000 in trans upgrades. :-laf

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I truck pulled it twice and both times I came in 3rd place, first pull was against about 20 some trucks and the next one was only against 8 other trucks. I figure for the little bit I have invested in the truck thats pretty good. I know my transmission is going to go eventually but I was just wondering how long I had if I use level 6 a couple of times at the pulls. I think Ill take it easy for now and wait and save up the $$ for a complete trans, then its all down hill from there :D

I have the hot juice on my fairly stock 2005, and the trans really dosen't like level 5.

At the drag strip I can run level 3 with no de-fueling, level 4 with just a bit of de-fueling, but I get 100 % de-fueling on level 5.

I'm thinking of rebuilding the OD unit with the Raybestos single sided clutches, the HD OD spring, a new (probbably ATS) converter, and a shift kit.

I may replace the other clutches with the Alto Red Eagle power pack clutches.
