I know, I know. I just would like a lower "working height" truck. The back end looks easy with that big block but the front presents issues a bit beyond me. Anybody do this? George

I think it is more of a frame to axle problem. There is only about 3" of travel before you bottom out on the stops. A custom pan could help some.

Well, stops can be moved and pans altered. Just wondering if it has been done and consequences (I am conservative and understand consequences as I have never been shielded by the Great Society) :D George

Thanks klenger. I would like to drop the whole thing evenly and still leave the back a little higher to settle out with a load. Really, it is the front that is the issue as the back end looks pretty simple. George

George

You said "working height" did you mean ride height or do you want it to sit lower when parked? If it is when parked check out Kelderman's stuff. You can put a dump valve on it so that the truck would drop 3-4" when you turned off the key.

Thanks tgbol. I hate to say this but I would like the whole "working height" dropped about 3 or more inches like a Chebby. Easier to get into, load the back, less wind resistance, less tippiness with high load camper etc. I have a rear Kelderman which is nice for ride but does not affect working height. Thanks for your considerations. George

Get a 2 wheel drive, and dont worry about it!

Shouldn't you be going UP with a 4x4?? Just what I was taught... To each, his own!

Yes George, it can be done with good results. Contact the Drop Shop in Portland - 503-288-5951-- Web site is -- charleysdropshop.com. . I know its a ways for you to go but they will do a great job. I and a friend of mine both had ours done. He does the front 1 3/4 inches and the back 2 1/2 inches. (I think that is correct). Much nicer for the 5th. wheel.

You guys are awesome! I have the tall tires for clearance but want to lower the body for center of gravity and working height. No reason to be so tall once clearance to ground is accomplished. Thanks again, George

Hmmmmmmm... ... . let's see, tall tires + lower body = rub, rub, rub.

Well, guess those tires aren't so tall anymore.

Rub rub? Hopefully not. Back end will be flat bed and front can be cut out if it has to but looks like plenty of room there. Should I come to something on this I will post again. Thanks all.
