still looking into twins and still undecided. need something to tow my 5er with and still be able to hot rod around empty. the relentless AA twins seem to be more cost effective than any other and was wondering if anyone has towed with them and what they thought. as of right now i tow at about 24. 5k at about 486hp and it makes towing pretty fun but would like to run some lower temps during the big hills. any input greatly appreciated... ... ... .

I dont know about the Arctic Air twins but i ran IdahoCTD twins for 6 months with the stock turbo on top and a S400 on bottom and towed 20k @ over

500 hp and 1208* was as hot as i could get no matter what i did, i think Relentless runs a similar bottom charger and at your hp level i wouldnt expect any egt issues.

Summit - how was the spool up , and the lag with that combo?

Great, spool was alittle worse on take off but if your cruising down the road with say 10lbs boost, there isnt any its right there. just need to throw a little more fueling on the bottom.

Rccox has made over 1100rwhp with a 3rd gen on these twins... I think that says alot... ...

Not exactally THOSE twins (stocker/ht3b) but a relentless kit nonetheless. He was running that setup and made over 800 with nos and made a many of 11 second passes.

Keep in mind with Twins or a Big Single it not how much power they will make on the bottle it's how much they will make with it. I run just over half the

N2O that most high HP guys do!

Having said that there is nothing wrong with these Twins, there budget oriented and low cost and will make good power. It has been proven along time ago with a 3rd gen that you don't need huge air to make big power, and if you are wondering there is not much profit in this setup.

The profit, with the AA Twins is that you can tow Heavy @ higher power, as your EGT's are lowered as much as 600 degrees. Instead of having to back out of it on hills.

If putting big numbers on the graph is the issue, then it seems its a toss up between twins and a big single. We've seen data for both. If its pulling a living quarters horse trailer loaded with four horses over Wolf Creek Pass, then it seems that twins is the way to go . There are options: downshifting to a gear that keeps EGTs in the safe zone and/or several gallons of water meth.

Why haven't I put twins on my trucks? I infrequently pull anything over the passes around me. Most of my hauling is on flat and level, and when I do need to haul over the passes I am satisfied with the cheaper options. Now if my business changed to where I needed to pull the passes frequently, then I'd definitely install twins. The Artic Air system would be high on the list for my 3rd gen.

It all comes down to the primary use one has for the truck and for the money necessary to complete the upgrade. In my case, right now $2900 worth of cows will produce $1800 of gross income per year. Twins would not add to my bottom line.

Just my 2/100 of a dollar.
