Found a Crew cab

Hey guys I am looking in buying a 95 E1500 Dodge Conversion Van(getting it for $2000 with a bad motor), and want to know if it is possible to shove a Cummins in there ? I am think of using a 12V 1994-1998 Cummins with an automatic(its for the wife). To add a spin to it I also want to add 4X4 to it as well. I am think of using a 1978 Dodge w350 drive train(I want the FULL time 4X4). Anyone done any of this yet ?

They are indeed unibody. That's why the only Dodge RV's you see are the overgrown conversion vans, no real class C's.

It would be tricky, that's for sure. I doubt the nose is long enough to fit a straight 6 under there without intruding into the passenger compartment.

If I was going to swap one,it would be a ram 3500 Van,or at least the 2500 heavy version. The 1500 dont have the brakes or axles to hold or stop that heavy engine IMO. Too much weight on the front end for a 1500.

I swear that when all the van ambulances had to go to diesel that there was at least one vendor that was making a dodge ram van with a very noisy diesel... aka the cummins?

This was long before I knew anything about our trucks and was probably driving a Rabbit GTI at the time... :)

You might consider a cummins 6A engine.

It's smaller, lighter. And it won't have the power of the B engine... not even close. But, it does run up to 3600 rpm, so gears are not a problem.

Thanks for the info guys, but I am going to be busy rebuilding my truck. Got to beat the snow. If anyone is interested, I have a complete extra Banks intercooler for sale cheap.
