Anyone tried HaulGauge?

Has anyone tried this? I've watched a couple videos about it but I'm still questioning it...

Call me skeptical but how fast I accelerate has little bearing on how heavy my trailer is.

But why, if you are suspecting your over weight, go to a public scale.

The concept is pretty cool.....but I was skeptical of its accuracy. And just to be clear, wanting to know tongue weight and trailer weight would be handy for any size trailer.

Too many variables to be accurate. Any suspension mods would effect it, and I bet it never registers any weight on an auto-level truck.

Buy the one that puts your TW at about midway on the scale for accuracy.

Have had mine many years. Small & convenient.

Theres also a 5er version now.

Do a comparison while at a Cat Scale. You’ll find it’s quite close.

I have seen a few youtubers who tried it and claim it was pretty accurate against an actual truck scale. But, it takes sag into account, and as AH64ID said, I think auto-level would foul it up.

I have the Sherline scale. Works great!

If you want to use it for different tongue weights, just buy a different gauge and screw it into the body. Of course be careful you don’t lose any hydraulic fluid. That is the only thing different on their tongue scales.

For the rest of the weight, i use our local quary.
