Wife wants the simplist setup she can have in her '06 ...

she loved the '91 in that all she had to do was watch the pyro and her right foot ... :-laf

anyone run a bigger set of injectors with a boost fooler and no other electronics?

just for conversations sake what do you think the largest injectors are as far as the stock cp-3 is concerned?

what size would just start to drain the rail at the end of a wot/dyno run?

Unless you have reason to suspect the injectors have a problem, the stock are good enough for efficiency and modest power gains. The 25 HP EDM's seem to help on both counts but still about twice what a programmer is.

A boost fooler will help but you really need the electronics for power gains. For the cost difference, a Smarty is much more effective than injectors. Without electronics you are just not going to accomplish multiple objectives.

yup ...

had a smarty in my hands while at New Era Diesels show this weekend ...

wife doesn't really care about adjustability or overall power ...

she spent at least as much time in our '91 as i did and we had the pump cranked up, straight piped and a smaller exhaust housing ...

she liked the power and the ability to get rid of tailgaters when needed ...

she told me to keep it simple superman ...

just considering all the options before spending any dough ...

the smarty would have the diagnostics as well though ...

I am VERY pleased with the Smarty jr on the 70hp setting. I don't know if the NEW ones are set up for the low smoke program but I re programed that into mine. It just gives it the right amount of "SNAP". Cheaper and a whole lot easier than injectors.

Get the programmer... . set it... . and tell her she doesnt need to touch it, then you can still play with it when your in it..... :-laf

i do have flux 2. 5s withmy mp-8 turned all the way dow just for the boost fooling and it drives great but i do miss the puch the smarty gives off the bottom end. now with the jr on 40 and the injectors i could slip the trany when I let it lug to low.

I wouldn't get anything more then a 60 hp injector and even at that you will be craving a larger turbo. With my twins and 100hp injectors I drain the rail and blow lots of smoke no mater how easy I am off the line through 3rd gear. When I lay into it I blacken the day in any gear. I almost wish I when with a smaller injector. Soon I will get a cp3 upgrade and hopefully it will help the fueling issues.

I also think the TST or the Smarty would be better then injectors. I ran the TST for 100k miles with no problem it had plenty of power.

Nothing to lose and you can see the benefits and mpg increase.

Bob, My hand calculated mileage droped with the lower smoke program. I have run the same setting of #2 on the junior before and after.
Is there a reason why??

most likely due to lower timing. We have a new update coming out shortly. The Revolution will offer 4 levels of timg and 4 levels of torque management.
