Are they as visible from the side as the stock lights? I had tried an LED replacement tail bulb but the LEDs faced the rear and weren't very visible from a side view.

Nice! Maybe a pic from the side of the truck to show if it lights up the side of the housing? That would convince me to buy them if they were bright from the side also.

Did you say you got those from Jeg's? I went to their site and they didn't show a picture of them so I just wanted to make sure that I was gonna get what I expected.

I like 'em! Now I can hear the money being sucked out the old wallet. My wife takes most and the Dodge takes the rest! :-laf

Not worried about anyone hitting me from the side. But to answer your question there is one led that faces the side and a reflector at the bottom that faces to the side. .

All I can say is these suckers are BRIGHT! I had my girlfriend stomp on the brake while I was standing behind the truck looking at the taillight and no joke, it blinded me. It was like getting your picture taken with a bright flash.

Coming out of Costco this evening I hit my remote start from 1/4 mile away and the running lights came on. The tails were pumping out the same light the stockers do with your foot on the brake.

The reverse lamps are brighter. I was backing up in the driveway and noticed it right off they were brighter even with the black nights.

The looks are just what I have been waiting for. All the aftermarket I have seen are just to gotty. These look factory except the bottom 1/3 is white.

The only draw back I had is the fit. Nothing fits like factory. I will pull them this weekend to do a little filing on the bottom corners of the perimeter. If I let them go they might start rubbing through the paint.

had to buff out some packaging marks with some acrylic buffing compound.

These just came out and styling concepts had them first at 299. 99. Jeg's just started stocking them at 246. 00. The also have free 2 day air shipping right now. Think there was a 9. 95 handling fee.

Cal 600,

Thanks for the pics and great info. Very tempting. I replaced the side markers on my '95 12V dually with LEDs and was very pleased. The old markers kept burning out. There is something about the light distribution of LEDs that is very noticible. I like the safety factor and knowing they will never burn out.

I don't have the Altezzas, but I have a similar light (sold on eBay by extremelights)... I can get you the link if needed. They are direct plug and play... no "lamp out" MIL. That is the reason I went with complete replacement tail light assemblies... didn't want to have issues with just replacing the bulbs in the factory housings... plus it's only $30 more than buying just the bulbs.

Bright, a lot brighter than stock lights. I believe mine have 60 LEDs per light... they look silver (which look good on a silver truck) with red LEDs.

I don't see how moisture would bother them since they are completely sealed.

Thanks for the pics Cal. I think I'm gonna be ordering a pair of those soon. I'm guessing no MIL lights from these either? You don't specifically say but I'm guessing we'd have heard by now! ;)

Steved, nice lights, just not my style. I guess I'll have to accept finish over fit on this one. I don't mind a little 'finessing' to get it to fit right, as long as the final product makes me happy.

Thanks guys!

Jeff

For what its worth, I just checked the manufacterer site on Ebay and they still have the same lights at the same price.

Steve,

Could you post some pictures of that light on your truck? I would like to see what it looks like in comparison to the red lens leds. I would think yours would be much brighter with 60 leds. The factory look red lense did not look like it has very many leds.

Cali 600. Could you count the leds in your lights? Just curious how many are actually in there. I still cannot make up my mind which to go with.

Thanks,

Mike

Got my APCs yesterday & installed them. Plug & play, no warning lights Oo.

Very bright & reverse lights are great compared to the stock lights. :)

Now they match my trailer lights.

Cali,

OK, Could you just look on the box or check the specs of the instructions. It may tell you how many are there. Or, you could mail them to me and I will count them myself!

I just ordered the one's from a Jeg's. I gave a thought to the Ebay ones but I'm with Cali and Turbo 1 ton. I don't mind finessing an aftermarket product a little... if it is what I truly want. I will post some pics when I get mine installed. Next will be the LED 3rd brake light from Recon!!!!

I wonder if they would trigger a bulb malfunction warning or if they have load resistors built in?

A buddy of mine has the same truck as me and he put in some lights that had the LED's in them, he said it blew most of his electrical system for some reason, had to replace several fuses and some bulbs too. I can get ahold of hm to get more insight if you want. Let me know, they are pretty good looking lights though, a little expensive, but nice lookin. Just my $. 02

My lights came in today. As described earlier they needed to be buffed because of poor packaging. Now I just need a truck to put them on. I am flying to Colorado this Friday to get that. :) I'll post a pic when I get them installed.

Update:

10 days after install the right side light lost 1 row of LED's. The left side light has a small piece of clear plastic (looks like saran wrap) floating around. Its in a different place after every drive. I didn't notice it on initial inspection, it was probably lodged in one of the recesses of the light. I called the supplier who was great. He said the failure rate is very low & offered a full refund including shipping or a replacement set, also no shipping. I'm getting another set, based on good customer service and the fact that these lights just look so good.
