Anyone try bigger custom made injection lines on a 1st gen w/ VE pump ? Stomp, glhs. . ?? Stock IC'd are 1. 6mm, stock nonIC'd are 1. 8mm. I think I sat down and figured out what that was in inches and came to around . 061ish for the 1. 8mm, iirc. I've read on the p-pump 12 valves that the . 120's aren't too street friendly, but . 093's are a good compromise for street/strip. They ain't cheap though, about the price of a set of ebay POD's. I done sold my nonIC'd lines, I'm using IC'd lines with a nonIC'd pump/delivery valves, holders. With my throttle setup, and air pressure regulator setup, I don't think I could use nonIC'd lines. I would need something custom bent in the IC'd line routing. Just thinking of new ideas before the twins.

You wait, I'm coming out to MM07, we'll settle this East/West thing;)!! I don't recall asking you anything before:-laf.

Ah come on, R and D !!!!. I'm cheap! Give up the R&D info:-laf...

You had better pack a lunch!!!! On second thought you better stop and get some bandages and some ice because your going to need it. ;) (The smiley inst winking. His eye is swollen shut ) :-laf Oh yeah its not about east/west its about YOU AND ME!!! I get along with pretty much everyone, but somehow you have gotten under my skin.

Don’t recall asking anything EHHH What about the 24 valve breather set up??? Didn’t I take pictures and get some part numbers for you???? Then the very next day you have to go and say something snide. I am not going to waste my time with you anymore. edit :-laf I bet this post isn’t going to last long. Moderator Moderator Stomp is picking on me :{ . You cant afford my R&D :p I will stay out of your posts if you stay out of mine OK.

I know a guy that tried some custom injection lines and didn’t like them. It caused the motor to idle funny/run a little different. Why don’t you try some and report back on how they work. Do some of your own R&D for a change!!

Gawd Dang!! I can see where you are coming from, though, stomp. Bill, you up to the challenge? I may have to make it out to MM07 for this.....

What!! How did.....  ??

Whew!! Thought I was in the 3rd gen forum there for a minute. :-{}

Now that I see it really is the 1st gen forum where we are all FRIENDS and a little COMPETITION is a good thing I am not worried. ;)

You guys better be careful! You are gonna rile the good preacher up and he will drag some of his R&D south of the border and read to you from the BOOK. :-laf Not to mention embarass you.

I hate it when PB embarasses someone. On second hand... ... it's ok as long as it ain't me. ;)

It's not a matter of who has the highest HP rig. fact, a person don't even have to know anything about the truck/engine. It's simply who parts with the most money.

Hmmm...

Stomp, I didn't know you disliked me so much. I thought in the past we were just ribbing each other, but from that last post it shows you definately aren't ribbing. Hopefully I have some 'big' twins by MM07 and can come out there and show you how to make HP :p :-laf :-laf :-laf . I'm sure as my truck sits now at 450rwDaveDunbarHP, I'd be right there with you in the 600rwWESTcoastHP area :p :-{} ;) :-laf.

Not sure who that's pointed towards or anyone at all, but we all know Stomp has barely turned a wrench on his truck LOL, and I've done all my work, minus pump build.

So there's my banter!

Well, some of us know that Jeremy changed a blown head gasket in PDR's parking lot so he could finish his dyno runs and drive home. IMO, he has the "turning wrenchs" covered.

A little good natured ribbing is one thing, banter is another. There is a place for that here on the TDR, its called the Competition Forum. ;)

Maybe I should have used LASS instead of BLOKE  Your right I don’t like you BILL!!! Why is it that the ribbing has always been so one sided  If you think that you have 600 West coast HP you might need to go back and talk to your Shrink. :p I think you lost your marbles in the street maybe you should go play with them!!

Here is your official invite. Come out to MM07, but I am warning you. You will be going home with your tail between your legs and tears in you eyes. :{ I think you have proven that you cant make decent power. You even have a 14mm pump 450hp shoot I wouldn't even list that in my sig. I can make that with a stock 12mm. Oh wait I did do you want to see the dyno sheet? What did you make with a stock pump 347hp or something like that? I think I will stop while I am ahead. So there's my banter!!! :p

Greenleaf is right HE who has the most money always wins. Guess what I have??? $$$$$$ So I guess I win right so there is no need for you to come out to the West coast???

Just to set the record straight I have turned a few wrenches in my time. It actually wasn’t my pickup that was roaddawg’s pickup up in Canada. He needed a little help. I have pulled motors transmission’s/transfer cases/rear ends. Etc. etc. The reason I don’t work on it now is because I can afford to have someone else work on it. When I was younger I couldn’t. So :p Why don't you try and get your facts straight. One more thing I built my last pump so I guess I am one up on you.

Why don't we just get back to the topic. I know there are some places that make the bigger lines for the p-pumped motors and for the 24 valves. Not for the First gen. I am sure they can do it, but there probably isn't that much of a demand for them. If I was going to have some custom lines made up I would go with the ones for the hp-pumped motor that way you could have more options for injectors without changing the tops on them. Although there is a couple of places that are making injectors for us so I guess you couldn't go wrong. You might want to call some shops and see what they have to say.

Wow! I thought you guys were going to go to fisticuffs for a minute there! Then you guys would be demoted to the banter forum. :{ OH the shame of it all! :-laf

I would like to officially invite you to join dfwstangs.net... you probably won't like it... and many of the members probably won't like you (at first) but anyone who can lay this kind of smack down will fit in just fine... bottom line is I got your back, and you'll therefore be welcomed w/ open arms! LOL

The impact on the injection timing is going to be considerable once a certain size is reached. That has to be compensated for somewhere, most likely the pump. The question is how much compensation for timing and even pressure can be made with existing parts.

IMO, the issues with the pump fuel delivery need to be worked out first and would yield a much higher benefit ratio. Unfortunately I think there is a limit at which line size is going to kill driveability. Granted, foot on the floor is kinda cool but not all the time. :)

Stomp, how much difference did the DV's make and how far have you explored that avenue? There is more volume to be adjusted there but the impact on pressure wave and timing is also a big IF.

My . 02

I have a good shop nearby that would happily build me whatever size injection lines I want, some may have heard of em, Scheid Diesel. They would also build whatever size injector you want. I wasn't asking where, but more of if anyone had or knew of someone that did get a set built etc.

I once test drove a beat up local truck, a 90, mostly stock, but had a junkyard s300, and he had Scheid build him a set of . 120's. I thought he was crazy for doing this before injectors etc. It idled fine and whatnot, felt much like a low HP truck etc. He said it made a big difference in spooling that huge junkyard turbo though. I probly would've bought the truck just for parts along with the lines, but he didn't use any hold down clamps on the new lines and they must of rubbed together too long because many of them looked to be almost worn through:eek:.

Sorry we can't get along Stomp. Funny, I don't think I can say there's anyone I don't like. Especially someone I've never met. I'm not gonna continue this baiting, picking and banter. You've obviously have shown your rear and said your piece. If you feel you must get the last word in, by all means. Good day bloke ;) :-laf .

Bill, just to set the record straight. Stomp does some of his own work, he just uses most of my tools. By the way do you still have those stacks for sale? :D

stacks

BP, I know what you're getting at. For the record the stacks were straight, level and even height. It was just the tailgate, truck, licence plate, bed and street wasn't level. Old farm truck what do ya expect. But no, I sold them at IRP this year. Was nice to finally get rid of that heavy bulky unit out of the garage.
