Anyone Use Michelin Tires from Sam's Club?

Just wondering if anyone has bought the Michelin "X" tires from Sam's. They are a lot cheaper than the LTX from other stores but I am wondering if they will hold up. If they don't go at least 65K, they are not worth it in my opinion. Please let me know what you think.

I have and they are a good hi-way tire. Mine had 85,000 on them when I sold the 95. They still had 1/3 tread left,but the last 3/32 you shouldn't use.

Check them though for load rating. You will wand a D or E rating.

I've looked at these tire at Sam's. I believe they are only LOAD C.



Ask the counter guy (or gal) for their price on a stock (load E) replacement. They can order them for you and they will usually beat most others' on price.



I special ordered tires for my wife's Intrepid ES (V Speed rated), and my BFG TAko's 285/75's . In both cases, the price was less than other retailers. Plus Sam's often has 6 month same as cash deals.

They do come in load range "E" 235/85/16 at my Sams club they were around $148 per tire. They are hard to tell from the LTX/MS and the clerk swears that they are made the same. Sounds like others are getting good wear. When I replace mine I want to go with the Michelin XPS Tractions. They run around $180 per tire from Sam's. It gets more expensive when your buying 6 tires.

I purchased my LTX M/S's at Sam's. They had load range E on the shelf in stock. Mine only have 7000 miles on them and aren't showing any wear. Of course here lately all I have to drive on is snow.

Our Sam's only seems to have the LTX tires. Haven't seen the X's.

I got 105K out of mine on my 00 dually, and sold the take off's for 35. 00 ea. for stock trl. tires. I will buy them again for my 03.

My son put a set on his 96CTD from Sams. They were Michelin X

radials. They don't look as wide as the LTX M/S when on the truck.

All the specs say they are but they don't look it. They look real tall

and narrow. Actually, narrow is better for dry and wet traction. Putting down more pounds per square inch than a wider tire.

I was a Michelin rep for a few years, that tire i believe is a LTX M/S , its just a private label tire for Sam's, but yes its correct almost every major tire distributer that sells Michelin's will have a different label on a Michelin tire, they are actually the same tires Michelin just private labels them to many retailers. the tires for sears and Sam's/walmat especially are done this way, so those stores can say "you can only get that tire from us"...

Is it the same quality as the LTX M/S?

from what i was told yes, the private labels are the exact some tire just branded differently. i have heard some people say that they are production seconds but i have never seen anything to actually support that claim. I personally buy the BFG commercials from Sam's and have never had any issues with them. BTW , BF Goodrich and Uniroyal are all Michelin products. But, Michelin usually promotes Uniroyal as a lower grade tire and from what i have seen it is. . My opinion for what its worth, usually i go with the BFG tire line, you get the same rubber composition as a Michelin, i think its a tad bit softer. The BFG's normally don't have quite as sophisticated tread pattern but for the money they kinda have the best of both worlds, great Michelin durability and a much better price. .

Pit Bull, I would trade mowing the yard twice a week anyday for this crap we have had lately. I'm trying to get a ravine cleaned up so I can have a 2 acre lake built in it before spring. I'm not having much luck. :{

FWIW I have Michelin tires from Sam's on the wife's mommie van. They were both offered at COSTCO & Sam's. I chose Sam's as we were moving and there isn't a COSTCO in a reasonable distance.



those Michelins are doing great. Traction is good. tread life and ride is exceptional



I need tires for the Ram and haven't decided where to go.
