Anyone use Power Service??

I tried a bottle of Lucas once. Didn't notice any difference, but I kept the bottle. Oz. markings on the side make for easy measuring for any fill up. I screwed a leftover piece of 4" exhaust pipe to the inside of my bed just behind the toolbox. I cut the top and bottom off on one side. The top, that's where I put the mounting screw. The bottom I folded over to make an actual bottom for the holder. Lucas bottle full of PS fits in there quite nicely and never spills or tips over. It's completely out of the way for putting stuff in the box. If my description doesn't make any sense, PM me and I'll email ya a pic.

My only gripe (and I haven't tried anything but powerservice) is that most of the diesel fuel additives are hard to find. Powerservice can be had at walmart and most other discount auto stores, I see Lucus at a few local stores but never have I seen stanadyne, primrose, or most of the others.

Well, I went and collected some 20oz water bottles. Used the directions on the power service and figure 1oz PS per every 1. 5 gallons fuel. Used 16 oz w/ 4-5 oz MMO. Then read the instructions for the MMO. It says 4 oz per 10 gal fuel. As the mix sits it is 20-21 oz. 4to1 ratio PStoMMO for 22 gallons fuel. I'll try that and see. Once I use this tank and the three bottles I've mixed I will try a bigger water bottle and mix by recomendation for a 22 to 25 gal fillup. By the way- 1 gallon PS, 1 gallon MMO, 3 20OZ water bottles small funnel and 1 box task wipes fits perfect in a milk crate wich fits perfect in my cross over tool box . Thanks for your input. I think I may start another thread about Royal Purple Synthetic. Read up on it. Sounds like good stuff. Really popular in the race industry and happens to be local for me. Oo.

ok i use ps i do it at every oil change would it be better if i measured it out and did it every fill up and if so how much for a 15 gallon tank(its the ford in the sig and its got 2 tanks)

I have not noticed much difference when running it in the truck but the VW's really like it. The Beetle had kind of a flat spot between 2K and 3K RPM. After a couple tanks with the PS added it has almost disapeared.



I run the Lucas in the truck, it seems to run smoother, and I like the added lubrication.

No offense, but that Stenadyne research is a load. They didn't compare the Power Services Diesel Kleen or Diesel Fuel Conditioner!!! They just compared the PS Diesel Lube. That's just a lube. It's not a cetane booster or pour enhancer! That "test" is so biased it's pitiful. Stenadyne must have paid for it.



Talk about passively spreading mis-information. Charts like those on threads like these really get me steamed!!! PS Diesel Kleen would have kicked the other's right off the charts. It's not a coincidence it's not listed there.



So what's the motivation to post a link to it here when it doesn't even cover the products in question?

I believe the guys that use it every fill up are using it for the cetane boost primarily and all the other good stuff comes along with it. As far as the MMO, I guess that is still a "mystery". :-laf LOL It improves the quality of fuel overall I am sure. The PS is a supplement like giving your truck vitamins. The white jug gives 4 cetane boost and the silver jug (PS Kleen) gives 6 cetane boost. As far as mixtures according to the labels, 96oz for 150 gallons fuel. So to keep it simple I used 1 oz per 1. 5 gallons fuel. So for your 15 gal. tanks would take 10 oz PS each for you to get max benefit. By MMO recomendation you can use 4 oz per 10 gal fuel. So you can use 6 oz MMO in each tank. Of coarse since you may not run a tank completely empty you can adjust accordingly. Actually the dual tank setup would make it easier since you can run one empty.

I have used Power Service since I began to realize that our Diesel fuel in this area was sketchy, and I never received a straight answer as to the cetane rating in the fuel. I love it! It brought my mileage up 2 MPG! It is great stuff.

I`ve tried PS and Red Line`s winterized formula good stuff, but for me Stanadyne PF is the all around winner hands down! True it took alot of phone calls to find it, but it paid off for me. Oo. Here in Reno Diamond Diesel and Turbo Repair carries it. Their phone # 775 358-8282, $61. 00 case price ( treats 720 gallons ) and free :-laf shipping to boot.

I would settle on a ratio of PS to MMO and the amount per tank and stick with it, I myself can't stand to try and measure EXACTLY while I'm standing at a cold fuel pump. I doubt it makes much diff if my 16oz ps and 8oz mmo go into 25 or 30 gallons, besides a quart bottle of ps makes for two fillups, nice and simple, and the mmo quart has marks on the side. It looks like I use a little more of both than most of the guys that have posted, but I still say (VERY CHEAP INSURANCE) and I'm sure that goes for most of the fuel additives not just powerservice.

Great point. I have been a Stanadyne fan for many years, mainly because it was highly reccomended by my diesel tech. I am certainly not getting the MPG improvements that others are getting with Diesel Kleen, and I like the price of Diesel Kleen vs Stanadyne. After I finish off what is left in my case, I will be trying Diesel Kleen.

I've been using the PS diesel kleen. I get it in the 96 oz bottles (I dont think they make gallon bottles..... at least I havent found them)

It seems to help the MPG's.

I get fuel in bulk, so adding small amounts aint a problem here. Figuring out MPG's are a problem though. :-laf

I've been using PS Diesel Kleen.



50+ hp gain and 100ft. lbs. + torque. Just like all the other miracle solutions, e. g. acetone, TAG, magnets, and such like - BUT I personally get to add this everytime I fill up... . HUA!



Actually, figured it can't hurt, especially in the winter. No antecdotal miracles noted.

Agreed! Some injector cleaner don't hurt every once in awhile, but no power or mileage is gonna be gained here.

I'm sure Stenadyne is fine. I just didn't like the "impartial research" link that didn't even include the products (PS Diesel Kleen / PS Diesel Conditioner) that compare to the Stenadyne product listed!!! It's like comparing Castrol Straight 30HD oil to Mobil 1 5w-30 Synthetic and then saying that Mobil brand oils are better than Castrol. It's the oldest marketing trick in the book!

When you pickup the 96oz bottle at Wallyworld, look around for this lid they sell for antifreeze and oil bottles that has a spout on it that you can close. It fits the PS bottles also, gives you a little extension that fits into the tank better. If you want a longer extension, but a piece of fuel line on the end of the spout. plus you can close the spout and not get the stuff all over you.
