teflon coated rims? I like the idea and look of a dark rim, especially if they're easy to clean. I just realized that the AR rims I have now are only rated at 2500#'s each! Haven't had any issues, but was a little startled!
if i could get the mojave 20x10's that would fit my truck properly [when will they ever build some with more than 4. 625" backspacing gimme 6" or better. . ], i would get a set of teflon ones... even if they were rated for the 2500 lbs, i'd get them... the front weight would get close to the 5k they could hold, but the rear would never get close to 5k weight
My truck weighs in at 8350lbs and I've been using 16x8 American Racing Bajas for six years now with zero problems except for trying to maintain the finish. They even survived a high speed blowout on the right front without structural damage. The Mojaves would be my next purchase. I like the dark look and low maintenance! National Tire&Wheel has them advertised for $175. 00 Shipping, caps and lugnuts would be extra I guess but no tax might offset that unless you live in WV #1-800-847-3287 www.NTWonline.com
Without any doubt get thhe teflon coated rims! I have seen a set that went thru a relentless winter of road salt and grime and the guy is NOT gentle when off road. I saw him this week and he cleaned up the jeep and the rims looked brandy new. All he did was hit them with a sponge and car soap and finished them off with vegitable oil ... yes vegitable oil. There was a spot he missed and that spot was clean but not as dark as the treated area. His claim to fame is V-oil on everything and after some dirty wheeling it makes cleaning wicked easy AND comes right off with hot water and is bio friendly.
And if you get your brakes hot enough, you can cook an omelet on them! I was wondering how the teflon holds up, after all, it only takes a little bit to scratch up your frying pan! I am definately going to look into these in the future. Thanks!
