I was wondering if anyone is using the mtx thunderform custom fit sub box that goes under the rear seat. I have been wanting to get a new sub box and was wondering what your guys thoughts on this one was.
I've got the Thunderform box. It was in there when I bought the truck. I blew up one of the MTX subs shortly after. Until that time they sounded pretty good. I replaced them with JL Audio 10's.
I have this box with a couple of Fosgate Power 10's in it. Under lower power it sounds ok. When you crank it up, it sounds like mud. It is not near stiff enough. Under high power, the ends of the box flex significantly, which results in poor sound quality and reduced output.
I have one also with 2 Fosgate 10" pushed by 800 watts with no sound distortion or problems at all. Sounds strong, better than the wood type box. Try one.
Ive got one of the Thunderform boxes with 2- 10" Cerwin Vegas in it and it sounds pretty good cant complain. Do notice a little bit of distortion at high power. What color are you lookin for? Might consider building the custom box Ive been pondering over for the past year so I can put my other matching 10 in there.
I am looking for the agate color, i think their version is charcoal. Right now i am bidding on ebay for one, but if i do not win, i am very interested. it can always be painted.
