Anyone using the AIG auto insurance?

I received a letter in the mail indicating I can get Dodge Auto Insurance (I think AIG handles it). The letter states $402. 72 savings or more. I have State Farm now, so I am wondering how well the insurance would compare to State Farm. Also consider that I have an Alpine / JL system in the truck which is obviously not factory.

I called them up, but they couldn't beat GEICO. Best thing to do is call and ask what they can do for you.

I agree with calling them up. What I want to know is how good are they so that if they beat State Farm's price I will stay away if I hear they are bad.

Mark-Have you considered calling an Independent Insurance Agent (I'm one )? Since they work with many companies, they can offer you choice and value, and you'll still have the counsel of an insurance professional, which the 800 numbers can't offer. Just a thought. Bruce

Yea I got the same letter from them to save and get "Dodge Insurance" since just this year the wife and I bought 3 new vehicles from them. Called and they were over $2000 higher! Then they had the nerve to ask/push me to get it! The last thing they heard was... CLICK(hanging-up phone)!!

I have had AIG for bout 3 years & have been very satisfied but then the only claims were for windshield chip repairs. I used to have Allstate for many years & checked other company prices often. I have 2 vehicles & my 5ver insured with them. They beat Allstate by about $65. 00 per month for similiar coverage. Maybe they are cheaper in Alaska for some reason. I also have a commercial drivers license. Only complaint I have had is I left my truck & 5ver in Seattle for bout 6 months & AIG would not cover them as they were not in my direct possesion so I had to switch back to Allstate during that time.

Keep in mind that rates change from state to state and county to county. I also got the AIG quote. They were somewhat close but they still didnt beat my Allstate policy as Ive been with Allstate for 25+ years and get all the discounts. Even with a teenage driver. I might add, they wouldnt touch my Corvette (I drive it about 200 miles a year and the rest of the time it is in a heated garage under a cover-LOCKED). Allstate has always treated me very well. I will stay with them just for that fact. I feel that most other insurance companys make you really fight to get what is owed you, should you file a claim. Just my opinion... An other note, AARP (Hartford) has also been sending me offers for insurance. I flattered them by giving them a list of what I would need. They came back with a quote for only 3 of my cars. They refused to insure the Corvette and also refused The 04. 5 CTD 3500 4x4 QC. They said my Vette was a race car and my truck was too big. . Yes, Im still with Allstate

I have Progressive. They couldn't touch it. AIG was HUNDEREDS higher.

I've had AIG for 3 years with no problems and they are a little cheaper than state farm

in my case.

After a few searches 5 years ago, I found a company Called ANPAC. Granted we have our house and other cars and trailer tied to the insurance, great credit score, the truck is considered a recreation vehicle with 7,000 miles per year, accident and claim free for 5 years, and whatever else, we are paying $240/6months with a 25% cash back in 3 years. $360/year. (100,000, 300,000, 50,000 $500 deductible) The Harford through AARP also has great rates but no homeowners insurance in our area. It is a pain in the ***, however, it pays to shop around.

I just called them and they beat my current State Farm rates by $660 a year for both vehicles! That includes insuring all the additions to the truck. I am going to compare the quote with my policy to make sure it is an apples to apples comparison. I am then going to contact my State Farm agent with the information to give them a chance to respond.



I also want to make sure that they aren't giving a great rate to get your business, then increasing the price gradually to get the rates back up. Anyone heard of them doing this?

Try Wawanesa Ins, they smoked all the others I tried. Only AAA was close. Saved almost $500 a year for better coverage! State Farm charged me $240 more a year for moving 6 miles, and no clear explanation. Also raised rates when got new, but less expensive, truck.
