I'm finally going to take the plunge and get some gauges. I am seriously considering the Westach white face 2" boost/EGT combo in the SRT-10 A pillar. Has anyone installed this setup? Does anyone have pictures if you have? Any comments or better combo's, or a better place for this gauge?

Thanks!

I had one in my '06 Mega too and really liked it. You really do not need it any bigger, it is pretty easy to read. I would get the 50 psi version like wcjp has instead of the 35 psi version I had. Even the mildest mod will put the boost over 35 psi. The stock truck makes 30 psi easy. Otherwise, if you want to keep the grab handle, it is a great way to get two gauges and keep the handle.

I am going to go with a dual pod this time though I think. I don't use the handle, and may even go triple to fit a rail pressure gauge.

Can't tell you about Westech, i'm using Isspro that match the Dodge White face gauges and green lights, got them from Geno's and they work great, I installed the 3-gauge center overhead (Boost,EGT & transmission) I have a fuel pressure gauge on the pillar, no complaints, they look and work great.

I too am considering getting gauges, and I like the STR-10 solution. My question thought is which is easier to read at night, Westach dual, or Isspro? I know Westach has different colored boots to put over their bulbs to approximate the stock look. What does Isspro do??? Does either excell in legibility at night (ease of seeing needle(s), amount of backlighting etc)???

Jim Wier (Humble Tinker, RST Engineering) wrote a great EGT gage article in TDR. I don't know which issue. PDF file that I have is too big to attach to this post. I'll see if I can extract the text and downsize the file. The article sold me on the Westach. The white face combo looks great on the S10 pillar and the gage performs flawlessly. Smooth needle operation. At night the gage doesn't look at all like OEM, but that is not why I bought the Westach. It is, to my knowledge, the only compact EGT/Boost analog set up on the market that allows you to keep the handle. I don't care for digital. Some like it. I agree with the post about the 50psi boost option. Genos tech recommended that to me. The "10% rule" seems to work, because I have seen 32 psi on mine, bone stock.

Ive got the 35# version. . . after adding my TST there are MANY times I wish I had the 50# one since I can peg this bad boy out VERY quick. heck, this was stock and nailing it in 5th

Go with the Westach 50psi combo gauge. Not an exact match but I like it better than isspro trans gauge--right around dusk my isspro is a little harder to read than the westach.

Main thing was I would be lost without that grab handle!

The '06 is the third truck I've had the Westech gauges on and never a problem - - - When I ordered the set for the '06, Geno's recomended the 50# gage and I'm sure glad I followed his recomendation. Had Isspro on my first truck ('94) and had problems with the sensor - - - but this was many years ago.

I have the Westech combo gauge but a night it is not as easy to ready as the the other two gauges I have for fuel pressure and trans temp. those two gauges have the led back lighting like the stock gauges are very easy to read.

I have the exact set-up that you were inquiring about in the same truck as yours. Srt-10 pillar and all. Easy install.

It works great so far (20k miles) . I put upper-lower limit lines on the face for a quick reference but need to make them a little more professional looking.

I had an SPA digital previously, really liked it, but have heard of support problems. I tried to go with Dakota Digital but their contact man needed a PR refresher so we could not do business. The Westach combo was my solution at a reasonable price. ;)

Here's the attachment I promised. I think it may be from TDR20.

Very interesting report on how these gauges/sensors work and the comparison between them.

I am happy with my Westach combo.

Thanks for posting that Deezeldood

Hey, no pic, but the flat spot on the SRT gauge mount, just left of the gauge, is a perfect spot to put that BD 5PSI fuel warning light. It's right beside your gauges and also looks like a factory install. Easy to do while your there... ... .

RAH out.
