For those who remember my question of upgrading to a 6 speed. .
Well, drove my second 6 speed on Saturay. Took my father and neighbor for additional "opinions". The result is that I'm keeping my 98. 5 Auto. I'm sure the fact that the second truck ground 2nd & 4th gear didn't help, but $$ was the deciding factor. None of us could justify shelling out close to $10K for rear disc brakes and a HO 6 speed. When I have a perfectly good truck.
If I was looking to buy a truck, it be a six speed. But as an upgrade... I can't do it.
ANYWAY... Per the conversation driving home, it appears I will do the only logical thing. .
Send my 98. 5 into the shop as a sheep, and look for a wolf coming out.
Here's my plan, please feel free to add.
To the transmission:
I'm gunna have a DTT TC,VB and Mag-Hytec transmission pan installed.
To the 5. 9:
DDII injectors, 4" exhaust and a "box". I'd think about the DDIII's but I don't want a lot of smoke.
Interior:
Pyrometer, boost, and transmission temp gauges.
Dynomat and new speakers.
I have a few questions:
Considering the transmission work I'm having done. What kind of "box" should I get?
What else should I consider?
BTW: Where would be the best place to have all of this done, being from Allentown, PA?
I'm hoping Bill chimes in... considering he's about to get a new customer.
