Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) anyone want to trade ATS for 6speed?

anyone want to trade full ats transmission for thier 6speed? the transmission has about 16K miles on it so its barely broken in. i just got the truck from another TDR member who ran it at stock power during its 1st 14k miles and i have been running about 350hp for 2000K miles and let me tell this thing is a hoss but i want a 6speed like i had in my 03. anyone anyone. $4000 transmission for a little cash and a swap

2,000,000 miles... you've been putting that truck through it paces. How's that transmission holding up?

How would you go about doing this?Would you have to use the computer off the truck with the auto. Possibly just swap computers from one truck to the other. Swap steering columns,transfer cases,drive shafts. It seems it would be easier if there were 2 identical trucks one stick & one auto that the owners would want to swap everything. I have a 2001. 5 quad cab short bed with a full DTT auto with the billett hub & input shaft & the 89 converter that i would swap for a 6 speed & a good clutch to handle my power (prefferably a Mitchell twin disc pulling clutch)My trans has only 10,000 miles on it & it works perfect. Anybody intersested let me know & you can drive my truck & see if you like it. Has anybody done this & is it even possible?

dtt sorry could not resist. ats that has seen very little or no abuse. good question on the computer and steering column. i plan on buying all of my parts from the dealer. pedals and steering column. they make kits to swap over that take all of the sweat out of it. plus it has been done many times by people on this board. i have located a 6speed with 4 miles on it so i might not swap it all depends. i will also sell this transmission outright to someone. anyone anyone?



how hard is the swap from stick to auto. i know there is a good article in tdr mag about this.
