Anyone want to trade grills?

Hello all,



I currently have a 2003 2500 with the chrome grill and the black honeycomb inserts and I'd like to switch to the grill that comes with the sport package. I'd swap inserts or the whole thing. My truck is bright silver with about 4,000 miles and I'm located in Wisconsin.

Laramie grill

I have a Laramie grill on my Atlantic Blue 03 if anyone wants to put a little chrome on their sport. It has the bug delfector (blue) on it as well

my 04 has the sport grill and the chrome bar inserts, i want the black honeycomb inserts. i'm willing to trade, but i'd like it to be local so the swap can be made while thr trucks are next to each other... anyone in the greater toronto area who wants the chrome bars instead of the honeycomb inserts???

What about all metal grills?

I've been looking for a grill, as well. But I have this bad hangup with plastic. Has anyone seen a grill that is 100% metal--inserts and chrome frame?

Grills and inserts

Hey guys. I had the black honeycomb insert in my chrome grill when I bought my truck. I went to a local aftermarket company and they had the chrome inserts in stock and I had them put it is for me. I think I payed $120. 00 to have them put it in. I have heard from others that they have paid $85. 00 to $125. 00. After watching them do it is was very easy. You can look at my picts to see the front of my truck. I have the chrome grill, chrome insert and chrome bug guard with a white truck.

I'm in the process of trading right now. I wanted to keep my chrome inserts and found out that the silly little plastic rivets are a bit $pendy at the dealer. (I sheared the heads off mine ) I got a bag of 22 of them for about $16 (parts man initially gave me a price of about a buck & half each. :--)



In looking at the new ones, I realized that if you could make a J-shaped hook to sneak in from the backside and push the center up enough to get a pliers on it, you could probably re-use them.

I watched them at the shop I bought my from. What they did was took a small drill bit and a hammer and tapped the centers straight through. They then popped the remaining piece out and pulled out the grill insert. Then place the new grill insert into place, pushed the outside of the keeper in, and pushed the centers back into the middle.

Thanks, fortunately the guy I'm trading with had more insight than me and did the exact same thing. I thought they were like plastic pop-rivets and it was a one-time thing. Funny how the dealer had a bag with just the right number for boneheads like myself.
