Heck ya, i love UFC. I agree, if chuck keeps it standing i kind of hope he knocks that big ol head of tito's into next year. But if it goes to the ground who knows, probably titos fight. So what about GSP vs Hughes?? Im saying GSP could take it as long as he doesnt get caught in a submission. But hughes is always in such good shape he might gut it out. His conditioning is what saved him vs Penn last month. Penn was whoopin his ***** untill he gassed. Did you watch the franklin silva fight. That shocked me. Silva walked right through him. Man was his nose ugly after that fight. Good stuff

Oh Yeah!! The Ice Man isi going to pound Ortiz's huge head in and make him go nighty night! As far as Ortiz getting him to the ground, that would make things interesting, but I've never seen anyone get Chuck on the ground. That is what a lot of them try to do with him, but they can't ever get it done.

I think Hughes will beat GSP. I think it will be a pretty good fight, but Hughes ALWAYS finds a way to win. Plus, I hate GSP! They have fought before, and GSP did okay until he made his first small mistake, and before he could blink he was in an arm bar tapping!

All I can say is I'm glad Shamrock finally retired. It was getting sad!

How about a TDR UFC watchin' night?!

I'm thinking Ortiz might surprise us. I think Liddel is almost impossible to get to the ground, but Ortiz needs a challenge after those 2 Shamrock fights. What a waste of time. He's hungry, but Chuck has heavy hands!

Are there any good websites to learn a little about UFC (rules and regs, as well as competitors)? I don't have cable, so I've never actually seen any fights...

Chris

Holy cow - that's nuts. So which guys usually win these things? The stand-up/punch/kick guys or the on-the-floor wrestler/grapplers? Sounds like Liddell is the former and Ortiz is the latter?

Man, I need cable :(.

Chris

You know - the other thing that surprises me is how small, relatively speaking, all these guys are. I figured you'd see some 6'10", 350 lb behemoths in there. Are they just too slow to compete with the smaller guys, or what?

Chris

I am cheering for GSP. Chuck has my vote for the Dec 30th bout. Penn did not gas out..... This is what happened. I am no doctor but I think it would hurt his performance a little.

But according to a medical report by Dr. Sameer Nagda, Penn did fracture the right tenth costochondral junction and did strain the adjacent intercostal musculature and oblique musculature during the Hughes bout, putting to rest speculation that ‘The Prodigy’ simply ran out of gas between rounds two and three. One of those who did question Penn’s conditioning was Hughes, who avenged his 2004 loss to the Hawaiian via a third round TKO. It’s something that doesn’t sit well with Penn.

Anyways I have not missed one episode of TUF on Spike since it started in season 1. I hope Patric the Predator Cote wins and hangs a whippin on that Anderson Silva guy! :--) :--) :--) He sure whooped Franklin and Leben eh!
