anyone with Eagle Dually wheels?...

looking for pictures of 3rd gen Duallys with Eagle 17 inch wheels (alcoa copies)... . if anybody does please post... DW is buying me new wheels for the rig and need to make a decision... also... I want to go with a traction tires for the rear and ribbed(for her pleasure) for the fronts... . any suggestions... . tire rack showed a firestone (junk) and a very expensive mich (which wasent Mud and Snow) and of course the old crack in five mile GSA badyear radial that is WAY over priced and garbage... thanks in advance

When you're dealing with HD vehicles, you have to go forged with aluminum wheels (like the Alcoas on class 6-7-8s). While the Eagles resemble the classic "8-hole" Aloca, they are cast aluminum, not forged like Alcoa or Weld. Forged aluminum wheels usually have better density, less chance of structural weakness, and higher load ratings.



I had forged aluminums on my 96, but until someone makes a good forged aluminum wheel for the 3rd gens, my 05 will stay with the OEM steel rims.

thanks for the reply... ... . i have a tonneau cover on my truck so I think i will be safe... i TOW heavy but dont carry heavy. and besides I think there is about 170lbs +- between the Eagles and the Alcoa (if they were in a 17 inch classic)

While I can't speak to the newer wheels, I had a set of Eagles on my '94 4x4 dually. Let's just say that after buying two additional wheels, I went back to my steelies and simulators. I agree with the previous post about the poor quality of cast wheels. Not to mention, the ones I had wouldn't hold wheel weights????
