Anyone with pics of Factory Cat insides?

I plan to leave my Cat on for now but I am thinking of gutting the little kitty. :-laf



Do any of you guys out there have any pics of the factory cat before it was gutted (INSIDE) If you do... could you post them and I could see how restricted they are for myself. Thanks

Instead of gutting ur cat you can buy a mbrp cat test pipe that will replace it for 50-60 bucks, that way you could alwayse put it back on when you go to the dealer. I just recently put that pipe on my truck, and it is loud under acceleration but i love it. As for lowering egts and gaining horse power i can't tell but i'm sure it helps.

This is a picture looking through the cat honeycomb into bright sunlight. See any light?? The honeycomb ceramic center fills the entire larger area of the cat inside.

The test shops sometimes use to check for restriction is to run water through it. It's surprising how well cats really flow.

I will more than likely go the test pipe route... just in case. For that amount of $$$ its cheap... and always have a new cat on the shelf. I know these are not cheap to replace and I could always reinstall if it were to loud.
