Just had Mopar boards installed today, they have perforations in them so they can drain, Had checkerplate on last truck & they get pretty slippery in adverse weather. No Pics

MOPAR pt#'s?

Nick,

I was looking at the dealer accessory book last night and did not see a black version of the running boards. Do you have the MOPAR pt#? I am interested in this style... .

J&J SS ... ..... Solid

I like the looks of those J&J boards. With the splash guard it seems like they'd give good chip protection, and I like the idea of Stainless Steel vs. chromed regular steel or aluminum for longevity. How are yours holding up? Do they rust at all where gravel may have impacted them? How do they mount? What kind of drilling is neccessary?

Some drilling needed into the rocker panels and box supports. I used corrosion inhibitor on all bolts. I replaced all the galvanized bolts, nuts and washers with stainless. Stones have no effect. No rust on boards at all. I really like the looks of these boards. The mounting hardware is very solid.

That's good to know... I only asked about the rust because if anyone has had experience with cheap stainless (AKA "steelhorse" AKA "P. O. S. ") it doesn't always MEAN stainless. Glad to know they're using decent metal. I'm gonna have to look for some of these installed locally so I can check them out in person... I have time. . haven't even ordered my 3G yet...

Running Boards

I am out of town right now, and do not have a picture, but I just purchased an '04 3500 Quad Cab Dually 4x4. I purchased the J&J Stainless Steel running boards. I love them. There are two diameter tubes you can get on the J&J running board. The black 3500 4x2 dually shown in one of the pictures has the small diameter tube along the edge of the running board. This tube looks best for the 4x2. There is a larger diameter tube that looks great on the 4x4. I would recommend these to anyone. The only down side is the cost, which I paid $1100 for. But, I don't have to worry about my children's feet slipping off the nerf bars, nor do I have to worry about the running board rusting. The construction is very good and the board are very solid.

I don't think you would regreat the investment.

I bought the J&J ss for my 03 3500 QC SRW. I live only 20 miles from J&J in so. California, but was able to save about $200 by ordering them in another state and picking them up on a trip -- go figure; even with shipping to the other state (about 900 miles) I still saved around $200. They took about 12 hours over two days to install and you HAVE TO HAVE a right angle drill or a rt angle drill attachment. Also had to alter a couple of the parts for the rear portion. But once installed they're very solid. And, included are the small ss deflector shields for both the front and rear wheel wells. Just completed a 6,000 miles trip to east coast and back, and once I hosed off the mud and grime, they look like new.

I got frustrated and gave up the search. Couldn't see spending $1000+ to get the running boards that I liked so I made a set.

Here are the photos of the Luverne Full Dullie running boards that a couple of you were asking about.

I have included 1 photo here, and all 5 are in the Readers Rigs section. I did not want to waste bandwidth with all of the pictures, and the photos were too big to upload here

The photos are much better and larger in the Readers rigs section

RonnieWood, if you would, could you post a side view, also does your running boards come with a front mud flap attached to the board. Thanks.

i have been looking for running boards since i picked the truck up. i have seen some nice boards, like the putco, deezee, westin,j&j and others. big problem has been getting a good look at the actual boards. the internet sights dont have a good enough picture and some dont even list for the 02 & up trucks. i found this tonight though, and while it is not stainless, it is a very reasonably priced aluminum that comes in either a 2" or 4" drop. running boards

i am going to call tomorrow to find out what their warranty is. i think these could work for me

I just had Dee Zee Bright Tread running boards put on my new truck. I have both pieces (cab boards & box boards) for complete protection from wheel well to wheel well.

Don't forget mud flaps to protect the paint behind the rear wheels. Dee Zee has flaps to match the boards. That's what I went with.

Haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, maybe this weekend. In the mean time, you can see them here:

In '95, I put a set of Dee Zee's like this on my father's '93 GMC. They still look brand new and there are absolutely no stone chips on his truck.

Check out J&J Enterprizes I think they look great. If you think your handy you can save some money installing yourself. Its not the most time economical though. 10 hours install with the learning curve.

Fiberglass boards

I got these from Millennium Products. I had them paint and ship to a local installer. The fit was very good.

The MOPAR nerf bar, I guess that is what they call them look great. They are chromed aluminum and hug the body well and don't hang down too low or stick out past the tires. You can still run the factory style splash guards. I just talked to Carlin Dodge in c springs, CO. today about them since they had a set sitting on a truck out front. Sorry no pics. They are pricy at $475.

Mopar Running Boards

These things are sweet, I had to drill 24 1/2" holes in the underbody using a right angle drill, but I got over it! And these don't flex like a lot of the nerf bars out there, and I like 'em a lot better for protecting the rocker panel. the best thing is how they fit the truck so well, you can tell they're made for it, the bad part is they're $670 a set, but well worth it once you get 'em on... .

I hope you check this thread...

I've been looking for those running boards since I first saw them on a truck driving by on the road.

I couldn't find Millennium Products by doing a search on Google. Does anyone have any contact information or information regarding distributors?

Thanks.
