anyone with stumble on startup go aftermarket?

after my truck has been in the shop 3 times, 18 work day's later, i finally had it with dodge. i guess the real problem is star, thats at least what the dealer tells me. truck still runs rough when cold soak sarted, and pukes blue-white smoke for about 30 seconds, depending on how long and how cold it is outside! i'm wondering if i put in aftermarket injectors if i'll be all said and done with the stumbly leaky injectors? i plan on putting injectors in at some point anyway. what do you guys think? i have to make the call by tonight! thanks... . james

That will probably cure your problem. Give www.jannettyracing.com a look see, they are right there in Waterbury CT. I bought a set of his 80hp injectors, $700 + $700 corp deposit, best price I know of for injectors, and they work very nicely. My truck runs as smooth as a Singer sewing machine. He sends the injectors out to an injector shop to be set up and balanced. Ask for Chris.

IF aftermarket injectors would cure the problem I might consider some too. What else needs to be changed? I suspect exhaust and maybe an AFE intake? Would you have to change the turbo? Does the fuel milage go to heck?

I did the injectors, turbo and ATS manifold at the same time. I already had the exhaust and AFE taken care of. But, if you just did the 80hp injectors, you could probably get away with just upgrading the air intake and a freeflow muffler. Your turbo should be fine. Just install an EGT gauge, if for nothing else, peace of mind.



As far as mileage, it should stay about the same, maybe even better mpg's if you keep your foot out of it. If you have the auto, it should do fine with the injectors alone. I would stay away from fueling/timing boxes until you beef the transmission. Oh, and the injectors are pretty easy to install, but I would still have a shop do it. They have the right tools to do the job, and I think it is only about a 4. 5 hour job by book time. Let them mess with it for a couple hundred bucks, its worth it.
