I'm curious how much fuel these trucks can flow, power-wise. I know there's a couple guys on here in the mid-500's on single turbos, and I think Bullydog broke 600 with twins (and nitrous?). How much fuel can these pumps flow, in terms of power at the wheels? Thanks...

Chris

Twins are on the way; should be here in a week or two. I may not get them installed right away since I'm going to fire-ring or o-ring the heads first.

I think the pump handles fueling just fine; I've run my TST as high as 5/5 w/o a problem (be careful of the turbo). I have the fuel pressure gauge laying in the garage though... I'll let you know some real numbers this weekend after I get it installed.

After I start using more of the power available; fire-ringed and twined; a new pump may be next. But I'm not going to do it unless the pressure dictates I need to.

Do you have a pusher pump or anything on there now? What new pump do you plan on getting should the need arise?

Chris

I've had twins on my truck now for a month or so. Made 511hp on a single. With the twins I made 570hp. These dyno numbers were both made with the same amount of fuel, the added air just used the fuel more before it turned into heat and gave me 60 more hp. I don't know of anyone who has made over 600hp with these trucks without using drugs. I feel the mid 500s are the limit right now on #2 diesel until there are some more upgrades available for these trucks.

I got the head and studs from Piers, but now I am waiting for some technical assistance from them. We are going to do a little writeup on the twin installation, so they want to make sure it's all done right. I gotta tell ya, Harry and the rest of the Piers crew are TOP NOTCH canuks!

We should be putting the truck together early next week.

Since my intercooler was full of exploded turbo debris, I went ahead and picked up a new 600 intercooler for it.

So the new goodies that are going into it are:

  • Piers twin turbos - HX40 and HT3B @ 70psi
  • Piers o-ringed head
  • ARP studs
  • ATS exhaust manifold
  • 5" downpipe
  • All the Piers supplied hardware, including air intake and air filter
  • DD pusher pump kit
  • freshly reflashed TST from Dunks Performance in Oregon
  • Edge EZ from ATS
  • 600 Intercooler

Work starts next week!

Hey Pirate4x4 sounds excellent, I was looking at that same setup from piers but no head work, do you mind letting me know the price or just a round about figure? I am still trying to decide if I want to go with twins though. Thanks and good luck, make sure you get some good pics, so as I can drool on them:D

twins were like $4800 for everything

intercooler was about $500 from dealer (got good hookup)

pusher pump was $200-something

What are you going to do with your 4" ATS exhaust since you're stepping up to a 5" downpipe?

Im not sure... Thinking I might reduce down from the 5" downpipe to the 4" setup... Or I might bite the bullet and get a new 5" system...

Ill be at SAC raceway on the 16th of this month you think theyll be done by then?

I sure hope so! If I am, I'll let ya know, and we'll see ya there. Got a few buddies who want to go get 'er done. :D

Excellent pirate4x4; you must be directly in front of me getting your stuff from Piers. I have the same setup on the way.

It looks like a straight-forward job.

I think I'm going to run the truck out to Scheid's for the head work and stud upgrade -- it's closer then PDR and they have a good rep.

DD pump? I haven't decided what pump I'll upgrade to. $200 sounds better then $700 though!!!! Already putting really big bucks into this.....
