Gino's Garage or APC ---LED Tailgate light bar, yucky!

I have gone through two APC led tailgate light bars. Both of the units I have installed within three months have slowwwwwllly shorted out. Eventually all of the LED's will just go out. I finally took the last one apart and found rust and corrosion along the entire pcb the LED's were mounted on. They are crap. I only WISH they were "waterproof".

I googled and a site said that the manufactorer is no longer selling them. That's great news.



Question, has anyone in wetter climated had problems with the ones Gino's sells. I am will to spend more $$$, but wondered if the were actually all the same? Help!!

Supposedly, Summit sells a "line of fire" bar that you can get with special brackets for the Dodges that allow you to still be able to use the spare tire winch. Has anyone tried these?

The line-of-fire I have came with stick on brackets that you screw the bar to that makes it removeable for the spare tire...

when I put my FIRE AND ICE on I used gel filled caps and a couple of 4 wire trailer plugs to make a wye fitting so as not to cut the factory wiring the unit is plastic and flexible the spare tire hole is only covered a little and the lite bar pushes out of the way enough to clear the hole. I am well pleased with the unit leds are very bright and the back up feature makes a big difference now I want to put one on my trailer so I can see to back it in the hole. HAVE fun Kevin
