Let me start by saying the search function sucks as I tried and tried it, I find it hard to believe that there has been no discussion about this new oil in the history of the TDR. What if any downsides besides being non-emission compliant would there be to running non low ash oil in a low ash oil required engine? I know the down sides to running the new low ash oil in the older engines, but what about the otherway around? is this the right forum?

Call the peeps at Royal purple... ... ... ... .

According to them using their oil CI4 Plus 15w40 has very little effect on the DPF, with respect to cleaning cycles.

"According to them"... ... ... ...

Does Royal Purple provided a written guarantee that if the emission control equipment fails and Dodge determines the cause was improper oil used they, Royal Purple will pay for the repairs?

The only reason to use CJ low emission oil is if you have a DPF. The CI oil may cause problems in trucks with DPFs with the high levels of zinc and phosphates. I don't run CJ oil. I like the additives the CI off road oils have.
