What happens when people aren't around

Seen this Movie? Apocalypse Now

The Wife and I went out last night Jason our Nephew asked if he could come over with a few friends to watch a movie on our BIG screen TV and use the Surround sound system. Didn't matter to us! when we came home I watched it, what a bunch of crap that was :-laf There were some pretty strange things that went on in VNam that I REALLY didnt want to know about but I just had to laugh at most of the movie. The part that was of the most intrest to the young folks was the part where the Bengal Tiger came out of the bushes after the two gathering fruit :-laf:-laf:-laf The wife about jumped out of her shorts :-laf:-laf She asked were there really tigers out there BIG? I didnt see any but im sure there were other things just as nasty that I did see and didnt want to (snakes came to mind) She said its NO WONDER why you aren't afraid of anything in our mountains (as long as I have a big enough gun) she makes me a bit on EDGE watching her gut an ELK :-laf

Its no wonder that young folks are so enamored about the glory of war if this is the kind of crap that the Movie industry puts out about WAR.

I dont/wont watch a movie about vietnam. I did see this one when it was in the movies, and that was a mistake. I really dont know why I saw it. I was downtown with nothing to do, so I just went in to see what was playing.

It is, as are all movies about vietnam, propaganda and bs.

"Never get out of the boat!"

It's been a long time since I saw it, but my recollection is that the first half was a fairly entertaining movie, and the second half was... was... just what the hell was that, anyway?

What is the Difference between Vietcong and the Enemy?

For me things got real murky over there, there were so many different factions there that I lost track of who was who, and really I didn't have time to keep a score card we had aircraft to keep in the air. This could help you in your understanding, I hope so. The way I worked it was, when the US Marines had one of their Officers fly out to talk with the 5 or 6 man Marine detachment in our camp, and flew out, within a few days the detachment came up missing. We would listen to Arm forces radio, and would hear of the death of a Government official of a southern Cambodian province, the Marine Detachment would then show back up at camp????? The next Cambodian Official took office and wanted to make an example (would be my guess) So they would attack our base (close to the border good enough reason) Well it didn't take but 1 or 2 times before Mom-Ma Wrights little boy got the idea. Our Enemy was the Khmer Rouge, Cambodian Commies. They were CHOPPING UP CHILDREN to keep their parents from leaving Cambodia and be slaves for the North Vietnamese, commies. If you remember the movie the Killing fields? that was about the time frame, look it up on the web it was a horrendous time for mankind pretty much a Genocide. When the Marines came back to base NOBODY had to tell me to stock up on ammo and get ready. The bottom line was if your getting shot at from a certain direction SHOOT BACK!!!!!!!!! I DIDNT CARE WHO'S SIDE THEY WERE ON. With the release of our POWs wasn't the end of the war there were OPs that ran in Cambodia into 1975.

Im so sorry for your family's loss, Yes they are a great bunch of Men. The person that helped me most when I was in the hospital after I lost my leg was a Marine. He had lost almost all of his limbs except the right arm at the elbow, he never once felt sorry for himself, funniest Man that I have EVER talked to.

Parents should not have to do that, with all the world has been thru and seen, ya would think that someone would come up with a better way to solve differences other than war! Doesn't say much for humanity does it?
