I am buying a Diesel Pusher and have questions

Anybody familiar with Appalachian Trailers in Ohio?

I'm looking at their 14k 20+4 gooseneck. I just need something to haul one vehicle at a time on - I don't plan on putting more than 8 or 9k on it and don't have the free cash to step up to a double dual setup anyway, so I'm thinking this seems pretty reasonable. Only thing that worries me is the neck looks a little weak in the pics. What do you think?

Still looking around, though, so if anyone knows of another manufacturer with good value for the money, post 'em up. Thanks.

How much are you going to use it? How long do you plan on keeping it? I have looked at them and thought that App trailers looked O K but they didn't look over built. It should hold up to moderate use for some time but other trailers are built better/ heavier. I have pulled Load Max, Corn Pro and I own a Keifer Industrial. I would look at Load Max they pull good, good quality, resonably priced. Since the price of steel has driven trailer prices up a lot maybe consider buying a better quality trailer used? Good Luck with your choice.

I bought the same trailer from Appl. For an extra $100 they'll make the neck and frame out of 10" instead of 8" (like the pictures show). I've had the trailer for almost a year now with no trouble. Great people to deal with also. I highly recommend them. You can add a lot of extras and still have a very reasonable price trailer.

I just bought a 14K tandem dump trailer from them, with removeable sides and top stake pockets... . I have been in the welding and fab business for years. I can tell you this much about APP trailers - there is burrs all over the trailer, meaning no grinding. Also the upper holes in the removeable side were cut in with a torch, slagg every where, and the tailgate had a 3/8 gap in the middle off it , where it meets the floor, which i had to press straight... and all the light holes are cut in with a torch even the licence bolt holes are blown in with a torch... Craftsman ship? You decide... .
