Need a camera troubleshooting forum

I remember in a past issue someone had put screening material over the intercooler to make it easier to keep clean. The problem is I would like to see how they had attached it. I see how I can do it but thought I would look at the old issue as to how they had done it. I have all the issues since mid 2004.

If the part your refering to is the one just behind the grill, I did something similar to what your describing on my 05.

I took an old screen frame, cut it to fit, put in new screen material and mounted it using the mounting holes on the intercooler.

i installed one of the Geno's grill guards with tool tray and then pop riveted the black screen to the top of the tool tray.

All has been in place since February 2005 and doing a great job.

More functional than pretty.

Thank you. That's the way I was looking at doing it. Wanted to see if their was a way other than that. Thats the way I will do it.

Thanks BIC1

I used something sold as Pet Screen, little sturdier than window screening, and doubled it over at the top corners, then tie-wrapped it to the radiator. It covers the whole front of the intercooler and wipes clean, when I am washing the truck. I have had no cooling problems, even sitting in rush hour traffic in the hottest summer weather, with A/C running. Its been on there for 4 yrs with no problems.

I went to Peterbilt and got a bug shield for a 379 grille, and used plastic zip ties to secure it... 200,000 miles later, and its still there!!!!
