I do exactly what jnelson says your suppose to. You let the trailer stop the truck not the truck stop the trailer.

You CAN buy the good pads. Tell your parts guy that you don't want the "D" line pads, you want the good ones. They cost me about $100. 00/set & they had to be special ordered. They are made by TRW.
 
I'm at 70K, 90% empty, and a lot of highway driving. Disc's are spotless, pads show very little wear... maybe 15%. I think these brakes are amazing!
