Im looking for the parts number and where to order an apps sensor. Im hoping is not the VP.

It started last weekend. I was playing around and matted it then it just about died, goes back to idle then comes back up. It set 3 codes 1693, 1689, 0237(?) the low voltage map. got that replaced and still does it.

I have read about every thread i can think of on this and ive come to the conclusion that its the apps or vp now. I have taken every plug in and dielectric greased it, cleaned every ground i can find, replaced the LP since i have 95,000 miles and now im balder than i was before. I guess ill have to take it to a dealer again. Any help sure would be appriecated.

Thanks Jeremie

I have an 01 stock with TST comp, auto

I got the 1693 code, not sure about the others, but my p1693 (companion code) ended up being the VP and it is being replaced as I type. If I were you I would go to an AutoZone or similar parts store and get the codes checked with their OBDII scanner, write down the codes and check them on TDR. Cummins warranty is up at 100,000, so the sooner you get it in there the "more free" it will be.

Just my 2 cents.

oops guess i forgot to tell the rest. I did that before i took it the first time and was wanting them to check out what was wrong. I already knew what the codes were, but was wanting to know what was exactly wrong. They only told me what the codes were again (idiots), so we had a discussion about that. They ended up replacing the map sensor and i already had the LP so i replaced it to. Now i still have the 1600 codes and now i have the 0122 APPS sensor. SO there is still no communication betwee the computer and VP and the APPS thing. But im still trying to find the parts number or where i can get them. Thanks for your reply.

My VP is in the process of being replaced right now as well at 45K. Two lift pump failures in the last 6 months will do that I guess!. Mine problems started as a interminent dead pedal that gradualy became more frequent. Took it in and had an answer in about 3 hours, VP is on the way out. Covered under warranty and hopeful will have truck back soon. The PT Cruise loaner I got from the dealer aint cuttin it and I'm already tired of my wife laughing at me.

Anyone know how long it should take to get truck back. Tech and service writer advised that it varies depending on when DC sends out the new VP.

I was hoping that it was the APPS due to the interminant nature and lack ot other VP Symptoms, but they said it was fine and the VP was the prob. Guess they can replace the 2800dollar part and I'll take care of the cheaper part!

Thanks

Also getting ball joints and front u-joints replaced too! Damn!
